Doodh patti
I'm one of those lazy guys who would heat up the cup in the microwave, throw in a teabag and a sweetener and voila, instant chai!
But no more.. this morning I decided enough is enough, I cannot settle for a measly teabag style chai on my day off from work. So I got me a Lipton loose tea 'Aala Quality' and right now its on the stove cooking away merrily. Nothing like waking up in the morning and having breakfast with a strong doodh patti. Tea lovers, please post your thoughts on this incredible invention of loose tea and doodh patti. |

This is a very important advice, I have had many incidents where the tea get's too much ubala and spills all over the stove. My solution to this is to keep it on fairly low heat and check often. Unfortunately there's always a long wait involved. Worst part about cooking doodh patti is the cleaning part afterward. Takes almost 10 minutes to clean up the damn utensil. |

second one but it has to be on stove. you get a little cooked/burnt flavor too that you won't get from radiation. It is not as simple as heating it up. it involves cooking it a bit. I am guessing you can add some water to it but then use low fat milk instead. I don't know the strict dooth patti council ruling on it

just put the tea bags in the milk and put it on stove. You don't really need Gold Label or Brook Bond and some people may frown on using tea bags but tea bags have tea in the little ting they call the bag |

according to the purists it has to be purely milk and tea. But there always those who mix water (half and half). I prefer the latter because milk is expensive and I hate running to the grocery stores every other day. As long as you can get that familiar color, texture and thickness in the tea you're all set in my opinion. Last edited by lahori : 4th May 2007 at 04:06. |

This advice never works becasue the more careful you are, there is always that split second when your attention is diverted and that's when the chai spills over ![]() Last edited by Zechariah : 5th May 2007 at 01:45. |

I had high hopes from Chai tea but it disappointed me. Nothing more than steamed milk added to a teabag style tea + cinammon and other unneeded crap. And it costs like almost $4 Last edited by lahori : 5th May 2007 at 04:31. |
