UK Courier Services - that deliver to Pakistan?

Folks - need some help.

I need to post a file/documents to Islamabad, Pakistan in the next 7 days.

I dont want to send it via Royal Mail because nothing I post ever arrives in Pakistan without the local postman opening it, reading it and talking out any thing thats vaguely important or of value.

So, are there any services that will despatch my file/document in a reasonable time (not 2 weeks!) and not cost me a fortune.

If it's just a file, don't you think email will be the best option

They are all original documents - no email/scan/copies etc - about 80 pages approx.

Well you could try Fedex or DHL, they're the most widely known and have offices in Pakistan I believe.

Oxy, send it via Royal Mail - Signed for International. You can have the documents covered for insurance upto £300. It will take 5 working days to arrive.

I have sent many important documents regularly and not one has ever failed to arrive in time. Cost is £5 + extra (depdning on how heavy the document is).

Royal mail is good so is DHL and Fedex. I would go with probably royal mail like Kashif bhai said. Waisay I work for a company which sends rhings by courier, cargo , frieght etc many times a month to Pakistan, India and China. I could get hold of a few more names but those 3 probably would be the best ones.

I'd second that. I once bought a plot in Lahore while sitting here. I used Royal Mail's International Signed for service, absolutely flawless delivery. Never had to worry about anything. Keep photo copies and send the originals Intl. Signed for. Come on Oxy, you know how it works, you've been a postie, haven't you? It will arrive to me in a crispy new light green bag in a York container. My boys will take it off the vehicle, I'll tell them to induct it right away as it will be treated as Priority Services Mail. One of my very pretty colleagues will scan the label and drop the bag down the chute from where it would be taken to the PS Locker via conveyor where the bag would be opened under the strictest security (cameras every where and with one arrest last week, the Locker staff are very careful these days). Your item would be scanned to Islamabad Foreign Service destination, tied up in a bag and a conveyor would take it to dispatch. It would be dispatched to Heathrow via sealed vehicle. What happens to it in Pakistan, is any body's guess. Make sure you keep the copies, use a strong large Jiffy Bag as A4 envelopes tend to rip if you try to stuff too many pages in them. Don't forget to write DOCUMENTS: NO COMMERCIAL VALUE on the package. I have never lost a document sent this way. Keep your fingers crossed!

I once worked for DHL in my student days for a year or so. They used staff from an agency then called Concorde (now Menzies). The boys really hated their job and took their anger out at packages and used to deliberately break packages open by kicking them or dropping them. Theft was common and vandalism was the only way to pass the time there. I hope things have changed by now but it was very bad indeed. I used to screen their cargo but that was one disgusting place to work.

Fedex, DHL nad Royal Mail are your only options, and judging by whats already been said, Royal Mail seems to be quite reliable. Alothough I have sent documents to Pakistan using Fedex, and I haven't had any problems with it.

No I'm afraid - none of my mates go to Pakistan! I dont really get on too well with any of the above, and my wifes friends have all gone to Pak in the last 3-4 weeks.

I dont really want to use Royal Mail because of previous bad experiences - the document arent worth anything in monetary value, but if they go missing, they are irreplaceable originals - and even a £500 compensation will mean anything.

FedEx is expensive - about £70.

Royal MAil is SLOW - can take upto 3 weeks.

ParcelForce seems an option

DHL is about £37 - the cheapest so far, but only spent a few moments searching.

I'll be sending it on Wed or Thur so stil have a day or so to find something.

Keep those suggestions coming...

were u based - just phone them up and ask them to tell u the weight prices - think the min is 60-70 quid

the nearest one i used was the in the City (london) - the alternative is to go do to Heathrow and use their facility there to pay for it.........

u sending it to Isloo or a town outside ISB?

Just got hold of the Docs - need to sort them out and then package them - then I need to weigh/measure the package before getting a quote.

Tune in tomorrow for updates

I would use Royal Mail for a Graphics Card - its quite lightweight. Just make sure you get 'International Signed For' delivery.

you should also find out about customs then. I am not sure but when we (the company) sends some hardware to UK, customs is involved (I think) even if the hardware is for demo

Used DHL in the end - cost me £50. They came, checked the contents and the sealed it and took it away.

Ive been tracking it as it arrives at each destination.

Not the cheapest method - but not the most expensive.

Just hope it gets there......
