My Holiday Trip to Pakistan & Dubai

Well for those who know me or read my thread back in Jan/Feb I have been on holiday, I went for 3 and a half months and loved every minute of it I wish I never came back but life goes on..... I've written in ALOT OF DETAIL so if you don't have time to read check out some of the pictures I took at the bottom of the thread

I alongside my Dad went from London (Heathrow) to Pakistan via Dubai, I travelled on Emirates Airline for the first time and as much as I heard about the quality of service it was ok this is because I reached Pakistan after nearly 2 and half days!! Our flight from London to Dubai was fine, food was fine seating space was ok, I had the window seat and kept taking loads of pictures from the window, but our flight was during the night and u couldn’t see much

Anyhow we had a 19 hour stop in Dubai (my dad booked this stay on purpose I wasn't aware till the day that we had to travel I found out LOL) I was surprised coz we reached 7am local time in Dubai and it was BAKING HOT and it was freeeeeeeeezing when I left London!!!! I met up with my mamu after 4yrs and he volunteered to show us around Dubai in the 19 hours we had, first we went to the famous Jumeirah Beach in Dubai (see below for some pictures I took) we didn’t get close to the hotel because we entered the beach from another entrance but when I did enter into the beach I was walking through a wooden maze hidden by many trees only to be welcomed by the whisk breeze of cool air and hot sunshine I walked onto the beach and it felt like paradise

I was speechless it was just beautiful (I know I use to hate the heat, but after this holiday I can hack the heat) I wanted to spend the whole 19hours on Jumeirah Beach but unfortunately there wasn't much time and I was so tired by 8pm I told my dad that we should retire at Dubai Airport and get some rest as our flight from Dubai to Pakistan was at 3.30am local time LOLZ I was in a bad state I wanted to sleep so bad but the seats were so uncomfortable I jus tried to keep awake by listening to my mp3 player (and of course this cute guy who kept going past every 10mins Lolz)

Knowing Pakistani’s something always goes wrong especially when u think you will have a pleasant journey to Pakistan, I was so wrong!! We boarded our flight but the seating space was so tight I was getting suffocated too many people (Pakistani’s more like) were pushing and shoving and shouting trying to get into their seats, as soon as I found my seat I think I got knocked out I fell asleep, it was only a 2 hour 15mins flight, an hour before reaching Lahore we got an announcement from the pilot giving us some good and bad news

The bad news was that there was only 1hour worth of fuel left and there was a lot of fog near Lahore, the good news was he said we will reach earlier than expected, I was happy about it as we were on our feet since Thursday night and it was around Saturday morning!! Then after 15mins we were around Lahore and the pilot tells us that there is WAY TOO MUCH FOG and we will be taking you to ISB airport, after 5mins he then tells us that there is NO SPACE LEFT at ISB airport we have no choice but to land at Karachi airport. LOL and you can imagine how the Pakistani’s started to complain!!! We reached Karachi airport it was around 8am and had to wait in the gate room, there wasn't much seating space people were so rude men were shouting arguing, women were speaking way 2loud coz no1 was telling us what was going to happen next, I was trying to sleep next 2my dad but all these women around me would not stop staring at me I was getting annoyed (I think it was coz I wasn't wearing Shalwar kameez lol) then they gave us food which was like shaadi type salan and rice and it was only 9.30AM I had no choice but 2eat it, but as I already suffer from an Irritable bowel I knew I was going to get sick, we finally reached Lahore airport around 5pm local time only to be greeted by a herd of growling men outside Lahore Airport who literally were running towards me and I thought I was going to collapse (because I’m claustrophobic) my dad took hold of my arm and got me through this crazy crowd and I survived !!! And then breathed in Lahore’s polluted air I cheekily smiled at my dad and said ‘what’s that smell’ and he said ‘welcome to Pakistan Muzammil get use to this air now!’

Well that was JUST the travel on the way to Pakistan!! I guess me and my dad were still tired and confused after a long trip which I’ve experience for the first time in my life I only felt 100% restored after 2weeks

I spent most of my time in Sialkot where most of my relatives are, I attended one cousin's wedding in Sialkot and walima in ISB (Islamabad) and this happened STRAIGHT after we had just arrived in Lahore after 2days we had more travelling to do LOL and I also attended another cousin's engagement in Sialkot, Sialkot was ok – way too polluted but I preferred Lahore I had a blast in Lahore we went to so many historic places, restaurants, parks and met a few relatives, everyday we went out it was so fun and I also visited Old Lahore (that is where most of the pollution is I couldn’t breath properly!!) We were in Sialkot on day1 of basant and in Lahore day 2 of basant that was a good experience too. On the way back we went Dubai, Sharjah, Al-Ajman, Ras Al Khaima most of Dubai and it’s beautiful hot but not hotter than Pakistan’s Heat!!

But I have to say the saddest part of my trip was saying goodbye to everyone because I enjoyed it so much I never wanted to leave but I had to as my grandmother passed away on the 10th April my dad had to sort out the funeral and mum requested us to come home after everything had settled in Sialkot

Shame I didn't get to see Malik although I swear I saw him in his car in Sialkot I’m so sure of it!! If only I had stayed in Dubai for 1 week longer I could have watched the Warid Series in Abu Dhabi oh well there’s always a next time!

Anyhow there’s way too much too write I know most of you will be bored I have a habit of writing too much, so check out below for some of the pictures I took whilst on holiday

my parents and sister went to pak and dubai during march and april for 6 weeks and my parents and sister have given a big thumbs down to emirates.

food was rubbish, service was rubbish too.
My parents preferred BA ..i thought BA were average. Saudi were miles better imo.

Thanks for sharing that with us Muzy and glad that you had fun! I haven't been to that part of Lahore since 1998 so the pics were a nice reminder.

Sialkot is also a nice place to visit - I'm originally from the Kotli Behram section of Sialkot. Although most of my folks are now in Lahore, it's always nice to visit where my actual roots are. I get this weird feeling of being "where I belong " whenever I visit Sialkot.
