Strange Sporting Injuries

I was playing 5 a side football yesterday and one of the opposition players collapsed in a heap.

Naturally play stopped and everyone was concerned for his welfare as he lay motionless and writhing in pain.

When someone asked him what was wrong with him as it all seemed to happen so sudden - his response "I've got sweat in my eye and its stinging like crazy".

Bloody wimp !

Have you come across/watched any strange sporting injuries?

Who was that guy who slipped on the soap bar whilst having a shower and pulled a calf muscle.

Or that sportsman or woman who got injured whilst opening a can of beer. Sorry I dont have the names!

This is not a sporting one. but my friend injured his knee badly while just standing in the bathroom. Apperantly his knee rotated 90 degress. He sat there for one hour in horrific pain since the doctors did not know what to do, it was only the 36th case int he world ever.

Nothing can beat Jayasuria. Bald guy dislocating his shoulder while trying to get shampoo. Classic

I suppose that English bowler around 1990 has pretty amusing too. Everyone thought he had done his knee but it was only a thumb in his eye.

Without wishing to lower the tone - but it happened, so what do you want me to do? Ignore it ever happened.

Some American basketball player (or whatever they call them) twisted his testicle and needed surgery to straighten it up.

Almost as bad as this saffie rugby player back in 95 I think it was. Dislocated hip, so the trainer snaps it back. The guy starts screaming so they realise its cause the testicle got caught in the joint...

Thats just sickening

Canizares was the one who dropped an aftershave bottle on his foot and missed a major tournament for spain - think it was the wc.

As for most gruesome/painful injury every - ONLY 1 winner - trust me!! DAVID albelda - spain vs ireland at wc 2002 - look it up guys - will make u wince!! was that freakish/painful that commentators forgot to mention that albelda was taken from the field in that match and spain lost a man!!
