Thats absurd. Even Sami wouldnt overstep by THAT much. Wouldnt it be pretty obvious if your foot is that far over. |

What a discovery!!
Could Gangulophysics be behind Shabbir's Large Overstep as well. I sense breaking news coming from TSN |

Since his comeback, Shabbir Ahmed has not been very impressive. He hasn't taken many wickets and has also been expensive in the odi games and 20/20.
With his lack of fitness and form, I don't think he should be taken to windies. Akhtar and Gul have been quite impressive in the few games that they have played so I would favour them over Shabbir at the moment. |

Can I just say, that we are jumping to a lot of conclusions regarding a lot of players, based on 20/20 performances. By that token, Hafeez should be packing his bags as well !!
I think we need to recognize that 20/20 is all about batsman - people playing crazy shots from ball 1 and the bowlers having no time to settle. Now if Shabbir had collapsed due to exertion, I would say thats bad but he did bowl his quota. I suppose all we can say is that compared to Gul , he looks more rusty. |

well in 20-20 they have not to prove anything apart from being fit
so we only can decide watching him in westindies |

Thats right MIG... THE EVIL WHITE MAN is trying to change this into a batsman's game. Twenty20 is going to be the death of cricket. We need to change the bouncer rule, leg side wides etc and give bowlers fair advantage as well.. The bowler in me has spoken ![]() |

20-20 is designed for entertainment...lots and lots of runs and top bowlers being smash out of the ground.
To equate a good/poor performance with a possible international call up seems crazy. The whole concept WANTS bowlers to be battered. |

1 way to fix it would be the method of a fine system. Most senior clubs and counties have it. Bowl a no-ball then you get docked 2% of your appearance fee. I'm sure you would see a rapid improvement in our extras column if this was the case.

Dunno about Shabbir but Sami cannot stop bowling no-balls if he were doing to to save his own life. He has what I myself as a bowler (and supposed bowling coach of retarded teenage wanna be shoaib akhtar bowlers) call chronic OBCM (over-stepping Bowling crease Malady) Its only solution is to chop his foot off and make him bowl while sitting in a wheel chair. |

Imran Khan's Formula: Have someone during net practice, who has the ability to bother people by keeping a close eye on them and mention to them whenever they make a mistake. So when the bowlers will stop bowling no-balls in the nets, they will not do it in the match. As simple as that.

Shabbir was not very impressive in the patrons cup before the 20/20 either. This was a 50 over competition but he was not very successful. Gul might not be fully fit but he is sure making a good start and Shoaib's recent performances suggest that he deserves a comeback, especially after Sami's operation.

In a way Imran is to blame. Did he not say to forget about no-balls and wides in his famous cornered tigers speech? However he was talking to Wasim Akram - a guy with a talent like no other in the last 30 years. Every batsman knew that although Akram may bowl a loose ball every now and then a magical unplayable delivery would be just around the corner.
The problem is that the current crop of bowlers are nowhere near the quality of Akram. I sure even Akhter deep down during a rare moment of humility will think that Akram was a better bowler. Therefore we can't afford to forget no-balls and wides now because magical unplayable deliveries from Akhter and co are in short supply. |

an occasional big no ball at his height means that the ball has lesser distance to travel , and if that ball is a bouncer ,then its a damn good one if its aimed for the wind pipe . so its all a tactical ploy , lesser mortals will just rooot and call it a no , only if they knew .
