World Athletics Championships
Tyson Gay ran down early leader Asafa Powell to win the men's 100m at the World Athletics Championships in Japan.
The American's storming finish saw him win in 9.85sec with Derrick Atkins coming through to take second. Powell, the 100m world record holder, faded in the final stages to finish third, with Britain's Marlon Devonish coming home in sixth place. The Bahamas' Atkins recorded a time of 9.91sec to take silver while Jamaican Powell trailed home in 9.96sec. |
