etoo with a disgraceful remark about madrid
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have confirmed they will be investigating the comments made by Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o during Los Cules' title celebrations.
During the celebrations in Catalunya the Cameroonian striker addressed the crowd, during which he called arch-rivals Real Madrid 'bas****s'. Eto'o has already issued an apology, saying: "I never wanted to show any lack of respect to anyone. "What happened was that in a moment of joy I started to sing and that was all. I beg forgiveness and hope that people will understand me." Real captain Raul has stated that he should be forgiven for the act. "People have been talking a lot about Eto'o in the last couple of days," Raul said. "I think he was wrong, but he quickly rectified the situation and we all need to stop talking about this now. "He explained what happened and in a moment of celebration things can be said that are not always good for the game and because people lack some respect. "But we all make mistakes and he set an example by immediately asking everyone to forgive him." However, RFEF do not agree with Raul and have launched an enquiry. "After what has been reported to have happened during the victory celebrations of Barcelona's championship win at their stadium on May 15, the words of Samuel Eto'o could be the object of analysis for this body and an investigation will be opened," a RFEF statement read. He went too far - i know madrid didnt treat him well but this is uncalled for |

Real Madrid have hit back at Samuel Eto'o after the Barcelona striker was less than complimentary about the capital outfit following the Catalan club's capture of the title.
In celebration of Primera success, the 24-year-old Cameroon international started an anti-Madrid chant infront of 100,000 Barca supporters during a title party at Camp Nou. Eto'o only joined Barca in the summer having been part-owned by Madrid - with this latest incident having not gone down well at Real's headquarters. ''This character is a fantastic player, but he leaves a lot to be desired as a person,'' said the president of Real Madrid fan clubs Fermin Calero. ''He has forgotten that it was Real Madrid that first allowed him to escape hunger and with these unfortunate declarations the only thing he has done is to encourage violence.'' Barcelona president Joan Laporta has conceded that the incident was unfortunate and that the actions of his prolific hit man were difficult to justify. ''I don't think they were ill-intentioned and should be understood in the context that they took place, at a celebration party and in an atmosphere of unrestrained euphoria, but they are difficult to justify,'' admitted Laporta. Meanwhile, whilst Madrid have indicated that they will not be passing comment on the incident, defender Francisco Pavon believes Eto'o's behaviour was altogether unnecessary. ''Maybe it was the heat of the moment, but I don't think you need to insult anybody when celebrating a title that Barcelona thoroughly deserved to win,'' said Pavon. |
