what is it with England bowlers and being on Hat-tricks?

Gough in the Hampshire warm up game got 1
20/20 Gough was on one again
Natwest series Game 1 Jon Lewis was on a hat-trick
Natwest series game 3 Harmison was on one
Natwest series game 4 Chris Tremlett and Paul Collingwood were on one
Natwest Series game 7 Flintoff on one

What's the betting in all of England's other Natwest games that someone is on a Hat trick in it

During the VB series a few Pak bowlers were on hat-tricks a few times including Afridi and Razzaq!

I know Merc, Rana had one too but this is amazing. In 5 england games back to back a bowler has had or been on a hat trick in all of them.

Pakistanis are past masters at taking hattricks. Wasim, Aaqib, Saqlain and Sami have all taken hattricks. By memory, wasim has taken at least 3/4 in tests and odis.

England bowlers don't even compare yet with Pakistanis in hat tricks. If they keep bowling as well as they are doing they will come closer.

Yeah, considering only 1 English bowler has taken an ODI hatrick, they still have a long way to go

It still doesnt change the fact that current England pace attack is miles ahead of Pakistan's pace attack. Dont flame me for that but it is true.

A full strength Pakistan pace attack would be similar if not better than the english attack and there is no question about who wins the spin contest.

Test Matches - Fully fit attacks from both countries in test matches are pretty evenly placed. However Shoaib might never be the same or even return to the tem, if that's the case then England will be leagues ahead of the Pak attack.

Akthar vs HArmison ---------------> Akthar
Hoggard vs Sami ------------------> Hoggard
Flintoff vs Razzaq -----------------> Flintoff
Kaneria vs Giles -------------------> Kaneria
Afridi vs Vaughan/Trescothick ------> Afridi

ODI's
- In ODI's I would say Pakistans attack in on a different level than Englands. Pakistan regularly play 6 bowlers who can bowl 10 overs each and who are all either economical or wicket takers. I think Pakistan have the edge due to having far more options when it comes to bowling with some excellent ODI spinners in Malik and Afridi.

Rana, Sami, Rao, Razzaq, Afridi and Malik vs Harmison, Gough, Flintoff, Lewis and Giles.

hey Merc!!! i think you forgot Shabbir Ahmed. he is fit now & bowled really well. i can go as far as saying that he was the pacer for Pakistan in WI. there is also Umer Gul to make a come back. it means we have a nice bench strength as well whereas i don't rate Anderson a big gun who is on the Eng. bench but S.Jones is there to give it a little bit of fight.

seems like we have a big stock of pacers in the backyard.

He meant ODIs, Harmison took a hat trick against India in the first ODI in Septemebr, while Anderson against Pakistan in the 2nd ODI in June 2003.

And Hoggard took one in the Caribeann on there last trip in the 3rd test.

anderson isnt even on the bench. Tremlett would be his replacement IMO. Jon Lewis is good but i rate Tremlett more

I was talking about a full strength pakistan attack consisting of akhtar, sami, gul and maybe a remodelled shabbir.
