Owais Shah forced to prove he isn't a terrorist

I have just read in the Khaleej Times this morning of how Owais Shah "....was forced to empty his bag to prove his innocence on board a passenger bus in London".

"In a shocking example of the climate of fear that has followed last months terror attacks, Pakistan-born Owais Shah, 26, was challenged by two women on the bus to reveal the contents of his bag containing his kit.

""Don't worry ladies, I'm not going to blow you up,"' the Middlesex and England player told the women, trying to laugh of their suspicions".

''But their response once they had seen his bag shocked him even more: "You can't blame us can you?", they responded.

There is more but I'm at work right now and can't type up the entire article. Besides, I'm sure the English papers have reported this incident.

Difficult times for Muslims in UK but no lynch mobs yet...One can almost understand the fear in commuters. However, what did they expect him to do if he indeed was a bomber ?

if two random women had asked me to show them the contents of my bag because they thought I was a terrorist I would have spat in their face

The shocking thing was it was 2 random women. The 2 people are complete racists. He should've asked them to empty their bags. Disgraceful.

I totally agree with you on this one. At the moment there is fear among all Londoners, whether they be Muslim, Christian, Pakistani, Indian or British and since it was so called Muslims who are being blamed for the attacks of 7/7 it is understandable for people to feel like that.

In fact the days after the 7/7 attacks i got onto the bus in the morning from work like i do sometimes to get to home. I uslally carry a fairly big holdall with me which contains my CD player and CDs which keep me entertained during the night. I showed the driver my ticket who proceeded to have a good long look at it, which they usually dont do. He then gave me a lot of evil looks and didnt even say hello or give a smile or anything. When i got off the bus he never even said goodbye even though i did and when i worked away i could see him looking at me giving dirties. Incidentally he was perfectly ok with everyone else, who happened to be non muslims.

Now i live in a tiny town not far away from Manchester but i could sense the fear and anger in that bus driver.

They are only scared because they fear death. As muslims we know that one day we all have to return to the One Lord and that our time can be up any moment, even now, in 1 minute or possibly in 1 hour. We cant stop Malik-ul-Maut from taking away our roohs, and we will die the way it is written in our taqdeer.

So I dont see why God fearing ppl should have such a problem with this.
