Fast is malaysia is either 4th or 5th which means tuesday or wednesday.

Some random malay guy will come on air after maghirb, and speak something in malay and then go off air. I have to use all my malay skills to determine what he said.

I need to ask a question.

If I enter the period of fasting, like after fajr azan, in a state of impurity e.g after wet dream etc, will my fast not be valid? Do I have to do ghusl before the start of the fasting day or is it alright to start fasting and then do ghusl for fajr namaaz?

Inshallah, the fast is valid.

The things that break the fast are clear and well-known. This is not one of them. I think there was a thread where Saeed Anwar194 or somebody put up a list of things that invalidate one's fast. I'll try to see if it exists.

There is a Hadith related by Ayesha radiallahu anha that is mentioned in Al Albaani's "Jami'i Sagheer" (I'm not sure which of the Sahih Sitta it is in; Mercenary, Saeed Anwar194 others, please help!).

I'll try and translate it as best I can from Arabic.

Ayesha states that Rasool Allah was late waking up for Suhoor one day in Ramadan. Infact, the Adhaan for Fajr had already taken place and there was just enough time to make a quick ghusul (he was in a state of janabah)before he (sallahu alahi wassalam) headed to the masjid to lead the Fajr salat. Rasool Allah fasted that day so this hadith is evidence that one may start his/her fast even in a condition of sexual "impurity".

On another note, it is odd how the English word for "janabah" has been translated in numerous texts as 'impurity". An Arab would never use the term to denote "impurity". Sex is not considered an "impure" act in Islaam nor are sexual emissions, male or female considered impure.

Anyway, aplogies for sort of inadvertently hijacking this thread.

Recieved from a friend of mine today:

Dear All,

May Allah increase your IMAAN, grant you IHSAAN, bestow you with SABR, delight you in DHIKR, bless you with TAQWA, accept your TAWBA and honour you in JANNAH in this month of all months. May you and your family relish and receive all the AJAR during this month.
Best regards

I travel to different locations so i was wondering if their was a website
where you could put location and it would tell you what time to break the
fast.

As for my local mosque- the people running it have lost the respect of most
people since last year fiasco when they started fasting two days later than the rest of uk.

It just feels like a month ago was the last ramadhan. Time sometimes seems passing faster than the clocks in our home. Amazing.

I really find it odd that ramadan starts on different days throughout the country! i mean one masjid here is starting 2moro

I think we should appreciate the current ramadan cos each year its harder cos the daylight hours get longer - in about 4-5 years it is gonna be solid

Fasting made easy

You should eat slow-digesting foods because they contain grains and seeds. Examples are barley, wheat, oats, millet, semolina, beans, lentils, etc.; whole meal flour; whole meal pasta; unpolished rice. They are also known as complex carbohydrates
