ICC told Chappel to Shut-Up!!!!!
Chappell asked not to comment on bowling actions
Tuesday February 7 2006 15:18 IANS PESHAWAR: Indian cricket team coach Greg Chappell has been issued a diktat by the International Cricket Council (ICC) asking him to refrain from making comments on the bowling action of players. "The ICC, through the channels concerned, has conveyed to Chappell that he had no business making such remarks about Shoaib (Akhtar) on any media platform and in future should refrain from such remarks or face disciplinary action under the ICC code of conduct governing team players and officials," The News quoted a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source as saying on Tuesday. The PCB had earlier written to ICC match referee Ranjan Madugalle asking him to investigate Chappell's reported comments to an Indian news channel before the third Test at Karachi where he said that there was "something seriously different" about Shoaib's bowling action. The PCB source said the match referee had spoken to Chappell and then the ICC, which had in turn got in touch with the Indian authorities. "The ICC didn't make an issue out of it given the sensitive nature of the Indo-Pak series and also drew Chappell's attention to this fact." Source>> Link |
