ICC Top 100 Player Ranking - by country
Here is something to chew upon for the stat-junkies like me. What I did was that, I took top 100 players in ICC ranking in all 4 catagories (Test Batsmen, Test Bowlers, ODI Batsmen and ODI Bowlers). Then I listed number of players for each country and their respective rank and respective points. I added the ranks and points with in each coutnry/team then divided by # of players to find ave rank and ave points for each country.

For example; in table A (Top 100 Test Batsmen)...Pakistan has following players in top 100 test batsmen;

12	Abdul Razzaq	PAK	75	414
13	Faisal Iqbal	PAK	90	339
				
	Total 		        570	7201
				
	 		        570/13	7201/13
	Average		         43.85	553.92


I added their individaul rank (570) for all 13 players in top 100 and also added their points (7201). Then got the average rank and average point by dividing the totals (570 and 7201) by the # of players in top 100 (i.e. 13). Hence the average ranking and points for the country. I did this for all 4 catagories.

but this doesnt reflect the current team - it takes into account players who arent in the current teams

its more a show of current and bench strength

Your batting was ok, it was England's bowling which let them down more than anything else. Though the stats are exactly giving a true picture, number of players in top 100 doesnt necesserily make you a good team.

Yes and no. After Indian series, the ranking for our ODI bowlers dropped plus look at the ranking for Arshad, Hafeez and Gul. Thats what dragging us down.
