students are lazy and dont really work - LOL

where has this myth been derived from? i myself had 10 exams last week and now been set 10 essays = each 3000 words to do as well as all background reading to do.
I was wondering why ppl think students are lazy and dont do any work? coz this is a myth that needs shattering imo. Ok so maybe media studies and arts subjects aint the hardest but i really object when they say students done work hard

One of my neighbours is a uni student.

Spends all day sleeping; and all night listening to deafning music.

Nearly knocked his front door down last week and told him that Plan A: turn it down or Plan B....

All students are lazy

I have to say, I have done nothing to refute that claim.

I'll eventually get around to it though.

I worked all night, looked after two kids during day as wife was also studying and working and went to the Uni in evenings. Studied every waking minute of the weekends getting minimum sleep. Am planning to go back to the same routine in September. Only this time the number of kids is doubled! And what's wrong with being 'arts student'. Someone is trying to prove that arts subjects are easier, a simplistic view that can only be cultivated by the study of certain thoughtless subjects.

My routine is quite similar....
These days I just sit on my "lazy boy" watching TV, going on-line, having some pizza +cookies on the side and when i get tired of all that i take a short 3-4 hour nap!

I beg to differ.....I think I can give you a good run for your money regarding the lazy award!!! But i feel kinda lazy right now, so no time to refute

Seriously though, Oxy its not that we are lazy. Its that we are lazy at times and than push ourselves like mad during exams and midterms. We eventually get so burn out...do not want to study anymore...so we take a week off and do nothing. Than when the tests come again...we pull so many all nighters (thankfully all those years of watching cricket, helps you adapt to staying up late!).

Do not judge us on one guy (that being your neighbour, who may just be a idiot). One o fmy room mates here is a complete idiot, dropped out of his major within the first 2 months. What does that say regarding students? Not all of them drop out of their major but if you judge us by that guy..it will seem like it!

BTW, if anyone wanted to know....I am currently in my first year of Honours Bach in Business Admin. I am enjoying it so far and starting to see it is one of the best programs (overall) within my province
