A new low!
I've been following Pakistan cricket for 25 years now.
This is the weakest and worst performing Pakistan side I have ever seen. I used to dispair at our unpredictability and fragility of our batting back then but how I long for those days now. Whats really hard to digest is that we are actually not that bad. Had we selected our strongest eleven (based on cricketing ability) we could have been competitive. I don't mind losing as long as we put up a fight but this is gone passed embarrasing, its humilating. Infighting is nothing new to Pakistan cricket but it used tobe between two of our best players. Worse case senario was that we still had one great in the side temporarily until things were patched up. Now, to my utter bemusement a culture of mediocracy has taken over. We have below average players dictating terms and holding the team to hostage whilst great and talented players are marginalised. In ideal world I would have Younis, Yousaf, Fawad and Yasir in the next Test. I had high hope for Salman as an opener and thought he'd be a decent choice as captain if he toed a neutral line. Not any more. Long-term let Younis lead the Test side, Afridi in the shorter formats. Show Malik and Farhat the door. Bring in youngsters who truly have potential i.e. have a capacity to score big in at least first-class cricket. Never felt this disheartened about Pakistan cricket. I have actually switched the TV on a few occassions during this tour. Never thought I'd do that. Thank you Mr. Butt. |

If I had a penny for the amount of times Pakistan had sunk to new lows,I'd be a rich man !

No Yousaf, Inzi, Wasim, Anwar. Knew when they came we would be better. We competed in the first Test at Colombo. This is a whole summer of beatings potentially. Headingley will be s distant memory in late september. |

I can understand your feelings, this is because of the bad policies of the board. You dont chuck out your top players all of a sudden like the away they did.
The current crop of batsmen arent even eligible to do the role of waterboys for the Indian team. Yousuf Younis Misbah should all return. Then your batting is quite good. If this was my team, i just wouyldnt watch their games, wouldnt even bother to check scores. You guys should boycot cricket until the better batters return Last edited by Dondulkar; 8th August 2010 at 13:53. |
