You are the selector - bring five people in the team kick five out

If Mr Ejaz Butt gives you full power to bring five players in the team and kick five out, what would you do?

Younus Khan cannot be picked as Mr Butta does not like him. What would your choices be?

I have mine below, no surprise most of them are batsman as our bowlers have done quite well

Five players I kick out:
1. Imran Farhat - Ave of under 35 after so many tests is unacceptable for a test match opener.
2. Salman Butt - same as above. Just does not score consistently enough
3. Shoiab Malik - A player with a FC average of 30 does not deserve to be in the test team. Plus involved in too much politics
4. Kamran Akmal - Keeping should be most important criteria for a WK, not his batting. He needs time away to lose some weight and gets things right
5. Umar Amin - has all the talent in the world needs some time in FC

I would have Danish K at number 5, but he has already been kicked out

Five players I would bring in
1. Taufeeq Umar - kicked two openers out, need one back in. Did well in the QAE, plus has a lost of runs against RSA who we are playing next. Has a positive attitiude
2. Fawad Alam - Highest ever FC average in Pakistan ever. Fighting hundred on debut, deserves a chance
3. Hasan Raza - He is like another Misbah, who was given a chance proper too late in his career. If Azhar Ali got 5 tests in a row, that is the minimum this guy deserves. He always got 1 - 2 got thrown out
4. Abdur Rehman - From all accounts he is the most spinner in domestic. We will be playing in the UAE so having 3 spinners in the 16 man team is not a bad idea.
5. Aamer Sajjad - Tough choice between him and Naveed Yasin/Asad Shafiq, but from what I hear he is most ready. Would not complain if it was the other two.

Wanted to put Sarfraz Ahmed in, but for the UAE series I think we be all right with one WK.

So what woud be the changed you guys bring in.

currently the team tht is playing:
Farhat----exchange for Younis---Butt comes back to top order
Hameed----stays on
Butt---Younis
Yousuf
Akmal Jr---Fawad Alam
Azhar
Akmal Sr---Sarfraz Ahmed
Aamer
Ajmal
Wahab
Asif

Only three changes needed in my view in light of recent performances....However I would still place Hasan Raza in the squad to keep the pressure on Azhar Ali to keep scoring.

its already being quoted Younis is in line for a return

Cant remove Butt since he is captain and another captain at this point is not the answer.

I would take Taufeeq in the squad ahead of Farhat, not sure if he would make the final cut ahead of Butt and Yasir tho.

Def Fawad in...no brainer

Hasan Raza as a squad player is a good choice.

The other 2 dont make sense to me...no need to change for the sake of change.

Take out Amin, tanvir Ahmed , Raza Hassan ( good prospect but won't get a chance), hameed or farhat depending on who is playing worse, Malik , Zulqarnain or Gul ( whoever is not fit)

Bring in Younis Khan, Abdur Razzaq, Saqlain Mushtaq ( same age as Ajmal ), Fawad Alam, Shoaib Akhtar ( if fit) or Afridi (if willing) or any other youngster or top domestic performer( could even be from list above.

1. Imran Farhat - Naam hi kaafi hai
2. Shoaib Malik - Has had enough chances
3. Kamran Akmal - He may have taken 8 catches but in his next series he will end up dropping 8 plus unproven batting.
4. Umar Amin - Like the OP said, has the talent but is not ready.
5. Azhar Ali/Yasir Hameed - In the long run, one is hardly talented enough and the second is still a fisher. I'd probably drop the limited player because even on a flat track he will take 250 deliveries to score a 100.

1. Younis Khan - No brainer
2. Fawad Alam - Deserves a fair chance
3. Hasan Raza - Is 28 and if Faisal can play 26 tests and Misbah can play 10/15 this guy deserves more than 7 as well as a proper run. Apart from that if he can be considered the biggest talent at age 14/15 then there must be something in him.
4. Taufeeq Umar/Asad Shafiq - Depends on which one is more in form. Both are likely to remain squad players.
5. Sarfraz Ahmed - I'd give him an extended run.

If we're talking about squads of 15, I would like to keep Umar Amin and Raza Hasan in there, without a doubt.

Farhat is starting to annoy me so we'll get rid of him. I don't care if Kamran Akmal took all 20 catches, I don't want him either. While we're at it, remove Shoaib Malik and Tanvir Ahmed. I can't really find a 5th person to take out as everyone else deserves chances. Tanvir is already too old and Wahab has proven his worth (relatively speaking).

Fawad Alam should be the first one to be brought into the test squad. I feel like Asad Shafiq would also be a good addition. I have been against Yousuf and Younus as of late, but their experience is invaluable at this time, and we can use them. Lastly, I'd like to try out Mohammad Irfan.

So, Imran Farhat, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Tanvir Ahmed OUT
Fawad Alam, Younus Khan, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Irfan IN

agree with your players to be kicked out but salman butt is captain and yes he is not a perfect captain but not doing too bad a job either i would pick him for couple of series as captain just to give some stability even if he averages at around 35.
1. Hassan raza was a decent timer of the ball and good fielder too. I havent seen much of him to know fullly/
2. Fawad alam. i will give him chance
3. Ill check how asim kamal has played in domestic latetly and will keep and eye on him
4/ sarfraz ahmed . seems inevitable.
5. aamer sajjad. seems like he has good FC record and people rate him highly.
