Shahid Afridi AND HIS INFLUENCE ON PAKISTANI CRICKET

Going Back to October 1996 and Watching Shahid AFRIDI for the first time against SRI LANKA where he hit the whirlwind 100 off 37 Balls really opened my eyes and i remember thinking what a magical feat that was.

i cant remember the number of times i have been disillusioned with Pakistani cricket but have turned up to watch them just to get a glimpse of the great man trying to hit a ball out of the park.

What a great cricketer he is.

Even David Beckham or the greatest footballer can't "Thrill" Like Afridi.

How many people on this forum would agree with me and say Afridi is one of the only reasons they probably like Pakistani Cricket?

if only we had a team of 11 Afridi's

: afridi

he is one cricketer that numbers cannot justify his importance to the side

he is very very unpredictable, and that is what makes him so exciting

^ damn ! Akhtar looking old, look at those white hair on face.

Back to topic, Afridi is arguably the #1 entertainer in cricket world right now. Probably the most famous celebrity of Pakistan after Imran Khan.

Akhtar is a treat to watch. Afridi is someone I find pretty boring because usually he doesn't stick around on the crease long enough for any excitement to build up and his bowling can get repetitive after a while. Also, in terms of personality and sheer presence, he just doesn't compare to Akhtar.
