Isn't Butt demeaning our own performance by accusing England?

The heartening rear guard from the middle order and the exceptional spell from Gul to snatch the victory from the jaws of defeat, anything and everything will be called into question by the latest allegations by Big Butt!

He's just joining in the mud slinging competition. And being the big Butt he's slinging big lumps so no surprise.

This is a mud slinging competition. The only problem is that ICC holds the power and to some extent a reason (due to NOTW videos) to throw mud at Pak. PCB holds no such evidence to be able to come out and say such BS.

Basically, he started an open war with ICC. Pak will not have anyway to win this.

isn't he also admitting that he has connections in gambling syndicates with comments like this:

""There is loud and clear talk in the bookies circle that some English players were paid enormous amounts of money to lose the match," Butt said. "No wonder there was total collapse of the English side."

Am I the only one who is flabbergasted at a statement by the head of the PCB claing to have inside information on "bookie circles"

Outrageous!!

LOL, this makes it sound like Ijaz Butt has actually thought through an action. He probably dreamt about England fixing the game during one of his meetings and has struggled to seperate that world from the real one.

I think he's demeaning Pakistan as a country, never mind the performance in the cricket

it doesn't matter if fans come on here and vent all their rhetoric and anger and make outrageous remarks like Butt has done

but Butt is in the public eye and is seen by the rest of the world as being a leader and a representative of Pakistan

Butt, along with that clown of a HC in London, have done more damage to Pakistan's image and reputation than anything that the players have done

imo

One can only hope this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. Hopefully this will lead to a clean up of PCB. These guys are embarrassing the country...then again we have a President to do that.

Sabr karo yaaro, there could be great news coming out of his comments:

- maybe he is talking sense for the first time and english players could be involved and that would be a big slap on english medias face.

- if he is talking rubbish, surely he can't continue as chairman because these are BIG allegations.

It is inshaallah a win-wim situation.

That would be the best outcome for the English media, it would send them into overdrive and probably boost their sales 200%.

I know most PP's think that the England media is out to get Pakistan but the truth is the England media is out to get anyone they can that will boost sales. It would be better for them if they could get a scandal just before the Ashes as it would mean even more sales. Nothing and no one is sacred to the England media.

you're not wrong Fish

if anyone has any dirt on any English player/celeb/politician especially in the form of video evidence, they only have to give it to the Sun or the NOTW who will happily pay for it, and pay handsomely too

look I think what butt was trying to say was that in betting circles they are saying english players took money too...now does that mean they did ? who knows but its the same sort of stuff that is being said about pakistan and the icc has decided to investigate..shouldnt they now do the same for the england players?? the accusations are just as unsubstantaited so why not?? of course i blame the pcb for alot of this mess but the ICC have also royally screwed things up!!

I recommend, in fact I urge the ICC to get a leaf out of the Book of Bush and call for regime change to the PCB!

Giles Clarke, Head of the ICC 'Sort of Pakistani Cricket' taskforce should lead the invasion into Lahore and remove the Republican guards protecting Ijaz Butt's seat in office. Once removed they should then proceed to pick the nearest stranger walking the street outside and ask him to fulfil the role of PCB Chairman. That is the solution the world and Pakistani cricket will feel much happier at!

+1. But I can understand the victim mentality. The fact that someone like Ijaz butt for whom word like "disgraceful" or "incompetent" or "shameless" do not nearly touch the surface when it comes to describing his contribution to Pak. cricket, is leading Pak. cricket tells you as much as you need to know.

I don't blame the ICC for not referring to PCB before making statement considering PCB's track record.
