Come on ICC! Pull your finger out...

...get to the bottom of all these allegations, and take the neccessary action!

How long can it take to decide what has or has not happend?

They've had plenty of time to decide if Aamer, Asif & Butt broke any cricketing rules.

Ban them or set them free - BUT DO IT QUICK!!!

ICC are guilty of dragging their heels, and causing the unpleasantness that we've seen in the ODI series.

ICC is a huge organisation with plenty of chiefs, on fatcat salaries, living it up large in Dubai!!

Do what you are paid to do!!!

Run the game - make the decisons, so that Pakistan cricket can move on to their next assignment without having this cloud over their heads.

ICC are not far from bringing their own game into disrepute via their inactivity & inability to take any action & make any decisons!

I bid you all a good day!

This is going to take a long time.

They still have not even said what the next step is going to be.

I mean, Asif, Butt and Amir have been charged by the ICC but what next? When is their hearing? Who will be on the panel? What specific offences have they been charged with?

I think the ICC know they haven't enough evidence to convict the three and are going to drag this on for as long as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if it's still going on come the world cup.

Nonsense!!!

ICC can focus on what breaches might have occured from a cricketing standpoint - The Met can decide what lwas of the land they might or might nove brocken.

You can be guilty of breaking cricket rules & ICC are the sole arbitors of that, without ever being charged or tried in a law of court.

Well the evidence against Asif is so flimsy it would be unthinkable to ban on the basis of that. Stepping an inch over the line could hardly be proven to be on purpose. Perhaps why they went running to interview Veena Malik in the hope of building a case. Though again, Veena Malik's random outbursts can hardly be seen as without motive.

Thats my concern - if drags on for months or years, every performance becomes tainted - starting with the SA series, then the NZ series & then the World Cup.

Even F1 doesnt take this long to sort out their issues!

I think the evidence is poor in both cases, if it was irrefutable the case would have been made by now, they are dilly-dallying.

More matches has no relation with those trio ok? They are suspended because of one Objection.. Now when investigation on this allegation will be done is the main question...

ICC can't keep them away from the game for too long because of other cases if The trio proved innocent...

Players had to respond within 14 days of being charged. Which they did. Now ICC has 40 days to establish a panel. However, in their response to ICC, players have requested more time to responsd in detail to ICC charge sheet. The reason given to ICC is that due to SY investigation players are unable to response appropriatly to ICC charge sheet.

ICC has granted players extra time to respond to the charge sheet.

So In my mind, the 40 days window starts when players resubmit their detail response to ICC, which may happen once SY finish its investigation.

So, long time before this is resolved, most probably sometime in November.

I know there's no jurisdictional conflict.

It's a procedural thing and ICC will use the evidence collected by the police. Hence the wait for the Mets to be done with their investigations.

The problem is the ICC only speak when they confirm another investigation is under way. Saj's thread requested questions for the ICC and they should answer some of them.

You simply can't have a indefinate period of supsension for International players!

If the ICC were to push things through faster then Asif, Aamer and Butt would argue that they didnt have time to prepare their defence.

So in reality the ICC are going to be slammed no matter what they do, which of course is not unusual.

There is a process to be followed and unfortunately in complex matters such as this, every bit of time will be needed by the ICC, and indeed the players to prepare their respective cases.

The ICC cannot make a decision until all parties to the matter are ready to proceed, and I suspect that yet may be many months away.

The players have announced they intend to contest the charges and have asked for extra time to prepare their defence.

The players have responded with a plea of innocence, so how long will it take?

Surely if this is going to take months then the suspension should be lifted? Maybe not in this case but in theory it could ruin their careers by being put on the sidelines.

How soon will we know the fate of the suspended players?

and the whole issue, I guess.

It seems like this is just lingering and at a standstill. What are we waiting for? The English govt to take some action or is it the ICC that is going to do something first?

I think the innuendo is just frustrating..
