ODI Series Against England 2010 - Review Thread.
As the series has already decided now with England winning it 3-2.
I think that we should look for the positives from the series. I think followinng are the big positives: 1) Discovery of Asad Shafiq (Atlast some batting talent coming through) 2) Re-emergence of Kamran Akmal, Abdul Razzak, Fawad Alam, M Hafeez and Shoaib Akhter You guys can add the other ones here also.. |

They competed well towards the end thanks to Umar Gul and some luck with the toss, but Pakistan looked more and more like a college team and less and less like professional, elite team, towards the end.
They had obviously decided that offence was the best form of defence against the deluge of spot-fixing allegations, but the only problem was, they over-did it horribly. There was chatter, glaring and staring almost every ball. Fielders were converging on the batsmen from all directions as though they were circling for a kill! If there was a starting contest in this year's ICC awards, Pakistan would have won the first, second AND third place. Umar Akmal was pointlessly needling people, even when they did not even provoke him. Whats worse, he even got into it, when he came into batting. Which sensible batsmen voluntarily gets into an argument, when everyone knows its the batsmen, not the fielders who have a lot to lose, in terms of concentration. The fielding was as usual comical, the running b/w the wickets suicidal. There was lot of public admonishing going as though it was a backyard game b/w a group brothers and cousins. Even Afridi was yelling at fielders often. Jr. BEAAAST Shahzaib Hasan walking across the side-screen in b/w balls was probably the icing in the cake. There was a lot of energy expended, but mostly for the wrong reasons. Winning teams are those that look the least dramatic. Pakistan was anything but that.. Did anyone notice how many times the sky commentary team was reduced to giggles? Last edited by rhapsodite; 23rd September 2010 at 06:47. |

Useless post by rhapsodite as usual.
You obviously did not watch any of the series. We outfielded England for the entire 5 games. Also, though the aggression may not come naturally to the **** weak cricketers representing India the intensity and aggression on the field was excellent, in my view, and in the view of most Pakistan fans.
