Smith and Kallis to be Monitored

Saturday, 30 October 2010

Proteas captain, Graeme Smith, will be monitored for the next 24 to 48
hours after receiving a harsh blow to the fifth digit on his left hand
in the second One-Day International (ODI) against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi
on Friday evening. Smith's X-ray scans showed that there was no bone
fracture, and he will be examined closely ahead of the second ODI on
Sunday.

"Smith's X-ray scans show that there are no new fractures to his left
hand, only soft tissue swelling and bony contusion. He is under the care
of the physiotherapist and we will reassess his injury in the next day
or two," commented Team Manager, Dr Mohammed Moosajee.

Jacques Kallis, who was carried off the field because of severe cramping
will also be monitored closely in the next 24 hours.

"Kallis had to be connected to an intravenous line after suffering from
dehydration on the field. He was recovering from a viral infection which
triggered his initial bout of nausea and dizziness, which led to the
severe dehydration and cramping."

now this is ridiculous he is just sick he is not used to UAE weather condition they are there after 8 years so it takes time for them to adopt to the environment he was in pain when he came to bat , but he did not give up he played well for a sick person no wonder he is one of the best cricketers of all time

If these two don't play, and in the next ODI we injure Amla, Devilliers, Dumyny, then we may have a chance to not be whitewashed... And even then it will be a very litle chance...

Even if both are out it won't make much difference since SA won't be chasing more than 250 with our batting.
