England are fallible says Mushtaq (bbc)
Leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed says England have shown they are fallible after struggling in their warm-up matches before the Test series.
England's batsmen have found it hard going in Rawalpindi and Lahore and Mushtaq said this gave the Pakistan team confidence. "They will go into the first Test under some pressure after their batting problems," said Mushtaq. "We should take advantage and do well," he added. Mushtaq, who has been recalled to the side after a two-year absence, told BBC Sport there will be something in the pitch for spinners and pace bowlers. "England have a balanced team and are confident. They have a good seam attack but at the same time, they have two experienced spinners who can prove dangerous," Mushtaq said. The Pakistan squad is spinner heavy with five in the side. "If the wickets help spinners, our side has more variety. Apart from Danish Kaneria and Arshad Khan, we have an option of Afridi as well," the veteran said. However, the Sussex leg-spinner believes reverse swing will also play an indispensable role in the series with England. "The media has under-estimated the role seamers can play in this series. Reverse swing can swing the tide in some conditions." Mushtaq is just happy to be back in the Pakistan squad. "I am working hard and I shall deliver my best. "I have played against few of the England players and hope that will also help me in my pursuit for wickets." |
