so means he has been alloted foreign tours as well good well done PCB ... instead of director post ... he should have been placed in NCA in 1st place .... he is not administrator .. he is cricketer .... lets hope he don't try to become a head coach .... stick with his only role ... ... I hope this won't warrant another go for Faisal Iqbal

oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Now he will try that every batsman plays the way he used to play. He will try to change their natural style.

He should just work on the defensive techniques of the batsman...

its highly unlike if they put him with team on tour .... he won't stick in his nose in other issues .... he have character that needs his own space too .... so might clash with .... waqar too ... in the end becoming head coach .. & waqar walk away ... he should be made to work in them now ... when they are back home in NCA

Whats next -

Wasim Bari as wicket-keeping coach ?

It is a good move overall because this team does need a batting mentor. I think the younger players Azhar, Shafique, Akmal can learn a lot from him.

My slight worry is that Miandad usually stuffs his nephew into his suitcase and sneaks him through customs.

Why does YK have to come into everything I say on cricket?Inzi was captain for best part of four years and apart from Ys who were estabished batsmen before his time which batsman did he give us.He backed failures like Malik-Butt-Faisal-Farhat etc.Plus there was justice Qayyum fine on Inzi.Keep him away from the team.

it's not his job to 'give' us anything, it is up to the players themselves to use that opportunity and show something.

Justice Qayyum hearing? lol

and YK was not established, it was only under Inzy's term that he started to flourish...wasn't even in the team regularly before that.

I dont think inzamam would have helped much .inzamam was anatural talent ,he didnot have to work hard on his technique. Whereas miandad's batting's mainstay was his proper defense and ability to rotate srike. Miandad is a better choice.

it's not his job to 'give' us anything, it is up to the players themselves to use that opportunity and show something.

Justice Qayyum hearing? lol

and YK was not established, it was only under Inzy's term that he started to flourish...wasn't even in the team regularly before that.
It was not Imrans job to give us Ws but he guided them and developed them into greats.Even Aaqib was good under him.Now if his name come up for bowling coach he has a proven track record of developing young bowlers.Inzi has proven track record of backing failures.

Justice Qayyum hearing? lol

Yes he too should not be in the set up.

As for YK he had 6 100s before Inzi average of 40.Hit a hundred in first game under Inzi.He was reaching his peak nothing to do with Inzi.

the generation of the 90s and the current one aren't nearly the same in terms of talent, and even then, the players that have come through have done fairly well.

the likes of Malik, Butt and Kami were/are key members of the side, have produced many fine innings, especially in the ODI format...Test cricket has been more difficult as the system itself is not producing polished cricketers...and their time is yet to come, they are only just entering their peak.

YK and Yousuf both played their best cricket under Inzamam, but you're not willing to give him any credit for that, even though they are.

Maindad is one of the few who is always helping batsman whenever he can. I remember when I was at Qadaffi Stadium Maindad for no reason (in my mind) was there and he was continuously gving tips to youngster.

Good move by PCB!

INZI would also be a great mentor but a totally different style....

He would be like a father figure....

I loved his partnership with Bob....

Bob did the tactical thinknig.... Inzi was the link between Bob and the team making sure that Bob was going at a pace that Pak players could keep up with....

We have much better young talent available domestically. Iqbal is having trouble finding a place in the A team. No way in hell is he making another comeback.

Let me pose an interesting question.

If Miandad had some other active role in the PCB, would we have a batting coach right now ?

You guys giving old Butt too much credit.

it's about time!!! finally some sensibility!

hoping the youngsters benefit a lot from this and our batsmen can regain that ability to score big once settled...

the step to the next level is what our batsmen need and miandad should be ideal for it!
