This tragic incident happened at the weekend. Someone at work is related to the family who are understandably devastated and completely broken. The baby was in a car seat but wasn't secured in since it was only a 'short journey'. The consequences of this were fatal as the baby was thrown out of the car.

Man in court for baby death crash in Smethwick Mohammed Isa Two-month-old Mohammed Isa died in the collision A man has appeared in court after a crash that killed a baby boy and left three others seriously injured. Charges against Kabir Khan, 31, include causing death by careless driving, driving without insurance and failing to stop at the scene. Two-month-old Mohammed Isa died in hospital after the collision with another vehicle in Smethwick in the West Midlands on Saturday. He was remanded in custody to reappear at Warley Magistrates' Court next week. Mr Khan, of Grange Road, Smethwick, is also charged with driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and failing to report an accident. He was told he will be committed to Crown Court to face trial when he appears in court again via videolink on 8 December. Mohammed's parents and grandfather are still in a stable condition in hospital. Another woman involved in the collision is in a critical condition.
