My England Squad For 2011 Cricket World Cup

Okay, heres my squad and playing eleven for England for the 2011 World Cup.

This is not much of a headache as all the Batsmen are solid in good form and solid in technique and experience so theres not much to worry about, Apart from getting KP back whom you cannot possible leave out, and which batsmen you gonna drop, Bell or Trott.

I guess they going to go along the same lines of the Eng V Pak ODI series.

01. Andrew Strauss
02. Steve Davies (k)
03. Jonathon Trott/Ian Bell
04. Kevin Pietersen
05. Paul Collingwood
06. Eoin Morgan
07. Micheal Yardy
08. Tim Bresnan
09. Stuart Broad
10. Graham Swann
11. James Anderson

Reserves:

12. Ajmal Shehzad
13. Adil Rashid
14. Luke Wright
15. Ian Bell/Jonathon Trott

Good squad. Same one for me.
I just doubt Steve Davis is the best WK-batsmen available in England. I will go for Kiswetter or Prior...
Then i will start with Adil Rashid instead of Yardy... The rest is fine.

Davies has proved he is best batsman wicket keeper in the domestic cricket.

Samit Patel should be ahead of both Yardy and Rashid. Someone like James Taylor might take Colly place aswell!

Tim Bresnan bowling on Indian flat pitches will be a disaster.

Swap him for Ajmal Shahzad and he can also bowl reverse swing in the latter part of the innings.

The rest of the squad is pretty nailed on unless Marcus Trescothick wants to play and then i would have a opening partnership of Tresco-Strauss which would be awsome

Very poor balanced side it must be said with all due respect

You only have 4 front line bowlers and a bit of Paul Collingwood

Alastair Cook does not plays ODIs or has not done for the last 10 ODIs England have played. He is not for ODIs.

You definitely could do with some one like Yardy/Rashid/Bopara in there

Trott is awful for ODIs. Class player in Tests.

I don't think you really thought about this one did you????

You can be sure Collingwood will be there, he does play very well in India. Plus his bwling can be good on those pitches.
Samit Patel is good. But he is more of a batting all rounder, and england have batting till 10 so i will play the better spinner in the lot.

I agree. I feel Shahzad will at some point replace him in LOIs, looks a better bowler with the old ball and batting wont be a problem for England, they bat too deep already
