Anyone played Microsoft Kinect?

It is amazing! Definitely beats Nintendo Wii. I have never had such a workout while playing video games before.

My favorite is boxing.

have you tried the dance title for it? I couldn't believe how addictive that was, especially in a party gathering.

with PS3 Move you still need a controller. With the Kinect you are the controller. From what I have read and seen, the Move is like a Wii with much better graphics and accuracy, (and of course more expensive). Kinect is an entirely different ball-game. You can do stuff with Kinect that you can't even think of on Wii and Move.

The last parts an exaggeration. All three let you be the controller, more or less. The Wii and Move just have you hold a motion sensor, what you do in terms of game play is exactly the same. The Kinect just looks cooler because it just uses a camera and nothing else.

Kinect is pretty awesome! The Dance central game is good for workout.

I also liked bowling and table tennis.

do u know how difficult it is to track a person?? tracking a sensor is much more easier, but tracking a human being, where a human may be in any shape or size. some of my class fellows are developing the motion sensor where a human is tracked something which you use in the games and in the movies for their final year project here in lahore pakistan. man there are some good fyps in my university mashaAllah.

that requires alot of research. in terms of programming and development terms kinetic is the god father of all other duplicates.

though i have not used it, and i have played wii, wii is good but the graphics are just lame. i have a ps2 but no ps3 do not need it. i dont play that much games anymore, though have to start playing some.

not really. Have you even tried playing Kinect? The game play is totally different. Try couching / kicking/ moving your torso around and have that register on the Wii and Move. It won't. That is where the camera sensor comes in. It has three cameras to pin point you in 3d space.

According to an article, the kinect is also capable of Minority Report style object manipulation, its just that MS has not turned on that high resolution. check it .

Thats all nice and well, but when you're playing a game, no one cares.

I just think that some games, like shooters would be easier if you have something to aim with.

the xbox 360 aka gaybox is prone to breaking down and you have to pay to play online

PS3, no wear near as prone and free online.

Kinect is good non doubt but its more or less the same as a move. Sony will be bringing something out like the Kinect and i dont doubt that it'll be on another level

lol, I bought my PS3 around when they were first released - I got a ridiculous amount of GB too, 80-120 or whatever they had back then. Works perfectly to this day.

No point in comparing the two though, they're practically the same anyways. Graphics tend to be a teeny bit better on the PS3 but I'm told xBox live is just awesome. I could go with either one and not really feel a difference.

I just got the PS3 because I had a PS2 to be honest.

When the ads for this first came out this looked really interesting. Haven't really followed the launch though. The idea is definitely very cool. If they come out with titles of Call of Duty, GTA, FIFA, I'd definitely be interested in getting one.

I like the idea of kinect, removing the need for a controller is cool and it certainly is a step ahead of the PS3 and the Wii

At the moment from what I have seen the games that are available are very basic and limited so it is a but gimmicky at the moment BUT like d0gers says if they start making top games compatible with Kinect then it will be really cool

I remember watching one of these promo video's for it and I liked how you can scan certain items (cricket back, stick etc) and then the system will recognise it

I'm hardcore, yo! PC ftw. So I don't play on kid consoles. But Kinect is just awesome fun! We tried it out at a party, what a blast!

Barring gaming, check Youtube for the stuff developers/hackers are able to do with the Kinect technology, stuff seen in movies only. You can hate MS all you want but you can't deny they hit a homerun with this! I even read the other day its debut sales were better than the Wii's.

So certainly a gadget I'd love to have at a gathering/party. But no other reason to have it. Except if I have kids, which I don't. So the PC is enough.

Agreed about the party aspects. The best party game for this is the Dance Central game. That game is an absolute blast!

The one thing I hope MS focuses on is the resolution, and overall interface of the kinect game menus. They tend to take a long time in loading but once the game is running, its smooth.

At the moment there are no shooting games BUT a game has been announced which will be released sometime next year - it is called Child of Eden, a shooting game though im not sure how it will work, Im guessing you would need a gun attachment of some kind
