Umar Gul Test Bowling Average in 2010 = 43

This is unbelievable.. but stats don't lie. Check on Cric Info for yourself.

I think its time we need to give chances to other bowlers for the test squad after the world cup, Umar Gul seems to struggle in test cricket.

With Aaqib and Waqar as bowling coaches, new bowlers can always be molded for the test arena.

i fail to understand where Gul got his bowling short of length bug, and he is unable to get rid of it despite having Waqar as coach...its ruining him as a bowler

I dont know man. Gul figures in the last innings werent that good but if you saw the game and how many times he foxed the batsmen.. every bowler goes through a rough patch. I think they should not give up on him.

problem with Gul is that he's too inconsistent...he'll bowll 2 really good deliveries and you'd think the wicket taking ball is coming...next thing you know it's a short one that get's thwarted to the boundary...so that's his problem...he's not able to properly work out a batsman in Test format...he has the pace, and he has the ability just lacks patience & consistency in his plans...

He is extremely inconsistent.
He'll have one or two brilliant games here and there but for the most part he struggles.
I think he's an OK choice for third bowler but not good enough to lead the bowling attack.

Considering he has played most of those tests in England where conditions were really helpful this is very disappointing

Should stick to LOIs, even so, his place is still under threat. Junaid Khan should replace him in Tests.

Exactly...Wahab Riaz and Tanvir has a lot to prove to become a consistent part of the team on the other hand Sohail Tanvir is just making a comeback and I don't see him matching the class of Shoaib, Asif or Aamir in test matches

He did ok in that series, mid 20's vs. Australia and 30 or a touch under vs. England.
