ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Manager Safeer Khan on Saturday lodged an FIR vide 10-5A-BK with Bara Kahu Police Station against unidentified persons, who allegedly damaged the proparty of PTI Chairman Imran Khan at his residence. Safeer told Daily Times that some unidentified persons came at the property of PTI chief located two kms away from Bani Gala and started damaging proparty including tube well, electric panels and electric transformer along with some other things. He said that the culprits ran away from the scene after setting fire to damaged goods, adding the party workers were not able to recognize the offenders due to darkness.
According to the FIR copy available with Daily Times, the applicant claimed that the unidentified persons caused damages worth Rs 50, 000 to the proparty and they cut off water and electricity supply to Khan’s residence. The PTI leader linked this incident with the revelation of PTI chief, in a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan against illegal occupation and grabbing of 80 kanals land at Bani Gala by Nayyar Bukhari and his relatives.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf District Organizer, Islamabad Chapter, Amir Mughal has taken a strong exception to the vandalism committed at the tube well of Imran Khan located in Bani Gala by the land mafia who had grabbed CDA’s land forcibly with political influence in the same area, said a press release.” We know how to respond to such incidents but we respect the wishes of the PTI Chairman as he wants a legal recourse in the matter. Therefore, in deference to his wishes, a complaint of the incident has been lodged with the police for taking action against the perpetrators of this offence, who belong to the land mafia” he added. He warned that the PTI could not be cowed down by such ‘acts of fascism’ and it would continue to expose political and financial ‘shenanigans of those who belong to the so-called ruling elite of the country.’ Investigative Officer (IO) Bhara Kaho Police station, Muhammad Ishaq confirmed that the incident had taken place and a FIR was lodged against unidentified persons, besides the police would initiate investigation today (Sunday).
