So Who Was Amir's Agent/Manager?
As Mohammad Amir awaits with baited breath the outcome of the spot fixing hearing, he will no doubt be reflecting on events since his introduction to international cricket.
A World Cup winner, a player regarded by many as the best young fast bowler in the world and a young man idolised by his adoring fans all over the world. The spot fixing hearing outcome will undoubtedly be a pivotal time in Amir's career. Whatever the outcome, this young man needs to have learnt some lessons and when he returns to international cricket ensure that the harsh recent events have been taken on board fully. A lot has been written about Mohammad Amir's "advisors", managers, agents etc etc but a lot of the items that have actually been communicated are incorrect. Amir's agent and manager is in fact an Australian gentleman who manages a number of top cricketers around the world. Given the sensitivity of the hearing and the possible outcomes, Amir's manager did not want to be named in this article but helped in providing PakPassion with some facts surrounding his management of Amir. Amir's manager confirmed to PakPassion that Amir had a 2 year management contract signed in South Africa 2009 at the Champions Trophy. That contract still exists however is not active. Amir's manager wanted to clarify that he was and still is not aware of the facts surrounding the spot fixing saga. In addition he has attempted to contact Amir several times, but has had no luck. ![]()

I wonder if this Australian gentleman wanted to "correct" news items published/aired/communicated about Aamir's agent then why he didn't not want to disclose his name? quite suspicious, where was this Aussie when Aamir kept on claiming that Mazhar Majeed was his agent is a million dollar question? and if this Australian is Aamir's agent, then what Mazhar Majeed was to Aamir?
Quite confusing. From a Journalists' point of view, I doubt his integrity and authenticity in his claims as he do not wish to disclose his name. Saj, I don't think that on claims of just an individual we should jump into conclusion that stories communicated/published/aired earlier are incorrect. Unless he provides a copy of that contract. |

Saj - first of all, thankyou for regularly updating us about the trio!
God knows how much I miss them.... ![]() Coming to the point, the question of anonymity by Aamir's manager/agent is a bit weird since Aamir himself has spoken about his Australia-based "agent" openly in the media. While I understand PakPassion is probably the only one cricketing media outlet that abides strictly by journalistic ethics, and you would not reveal the name of the agent/manager, it is indeed confounding why the person would make such a request.. ![]() Thanks again tho!

while I remember that Aamir has talked about some Australian agent in past, but in front of Michael Beloff, ICC's anti corruption tribunal head . Aamir has confirmed that Mazhar was his agent.

I guess they have different agents for different parts of the world.
The above guy's twitter suggests Amir, Akmal and Ajmal were all contracted to his agency. Can't blame him for not wanting his name advertised to the world. |

![]() I think from his perspective you have to look at the reputation he has built up. If one of his clients has been accused of spot fixing and he doesn't know the full facts, then he's not going to sit in front of the media or the public and say that his client is innocent is he? If he was 100% certain that his client was innocent, then that would be a different matter.

The kid (if given a second chance at his career) should really straighten up and be very very cautious in future.
I think his agent will do well to keep him on the straight and narrow if that happens. He could use adult guidance and professional approach.
