CA Plus 8000 Tamim

Speaking with Knightrider the other day, he mentioned that Tamim's World Cup CA Plus 8000 had his name on it. After a little bit of digging, I noticed the bat on CA's website.

No description or specs, but perhaps you guys will be able to shed some light on the matter.

I don't know but I really don't find big difference in CA bat shapes to some extent.

For example, I have seen a difference between TRD and 12000 Plus but I haven't seen a difference in 12000 Plus and 10000 Plus shape, they look the same to some extent to me.

I really don't understand why they don't make one for Misbah and/or Younis.

This CA 12000 LALA looks no different either;

I thought that the 12000 was the top of the range but why does Farhat use this one?

If I was to buy this bat, would it be the same one Farhat is using?

Why would CA endorse Imran Farhat with top of the line bat?

If you want to buy CA 10000 Plus because of Imran Farhat then

I would love to buy CA 12000 Youniy Moyo or Misbah it will make me more happy to pay this price rather then the price for 12000 TRD.

What's wrong with Farhat?

Besides a willingness to throw away innings or play strokes far beyond his capabilities? Even then there's a lot wrong with him...

That's likely why they labeled it as Lala and not Afridi. Ethically wrong, legally fine...

If true then it could be a sensible move I would say.

But I don't know if its me but don't you think CA has too many bats in there catalogue?

I have a feeling that CA will be knocking over TRD range because in the beginning it was only Mani LE and then TRD LE came out which kicked out Mani LE so I think same will happen this time around maybe

Hope I made sense..

Yea, there are far too many products in their catalogue for my taste. One must remember that in Pakistan the majority of bats sold are lower end bats so perhaps it helps in having a variety of lower end bats (ie. Somo, Style, Power, T20).

As for the TRD, I just don't want a Dilshan bat so perhaps the Lala move will work.

Afridi apparently uses the shape and profile like my MB LE according to Malik Zulfiqar who swears that he does.

Riz Bhai, no one in Pakistan buy these 20K bats hence majority stores don't stock top end bats.

Yea, that's what I mean. While CA may have a catalogue of 15 bats, only a portion of those are sold in Pakistan with another (higher end) portion being exported overseas.

same is true in India as well....this year all the top bats from all the major brands r 20k INR. last year it was 13K INR. they r following the same strategy like Newbery Cenkos. their bat making cost is the same. and even if they can sell only 50 such bats a year, the margins on those r huge.

plus there r lots of ppl who have the money to buy such bats. because the normal mindset is that more expensive equals better quality

Askmoi Bhai, I think the reason why prices of the bats increased in India (they increased in Pakistan as well) is due to EU ban on a chemical use, that surely has struck the Asian manufacturers.

I remember paying Rs. 12300 for my 12K Plus and now it is around 14K (I think) [talking about CA 12000 Plus here]

Riz Bhai, I remember going to trails at Qadaffi Stadium Lahore and I saw not even a single bat which was top end like 12K + etc

tamim 8k plus will sell well in b'desh....they shud take out one more for shakib as well....

i think ca shud have diff versions for diff countries. range for nz as well.

imo good marketing strategy. since their costs remain the same, they can price differently and make good margins.

Other than a pink grip and sticking TAMIM below the 8000, I wonder how much different this bat will be to a normal PLUS.

I don't particularly like bats being sold off the reputation of a single player.
