Good thread!

It is difficult to pick one as there are many good ones out there.

But from what I have seen and read I would say the top three Asian bat makers are (not in any particular order);

CA, SS and BAS.

This is just based on bats but taking about softs I would say SG and SS lead the pack but MB Malik's new softs aren't far.

Too lazy and tired to explain why

Because more players are using SS I would infer that it is the best Asian Bat brand

I once tried BDM softs and they were crap didn't like them at all!

I think SS and SG softs are the best in India but some people say SG is better.

Askmoi would be best person to answer on that.

Yara BDM softs are good. I have used them. BDM titanium pads are very good and I've had lot of BDM gloves and they were all good. BDM dont change their design of their softs as much as SS or SG but quality of their gloves especially is very good. I got some new ones recently vv

The Best Asian Made Bat Brands

My opinion is that the bat making expertise is better in Pakistan than in India and after the split more of the quality bat makers stayed in Pakistan than India excluding Mengha Ram (Head Bat Maker at BAS) who is Pakistani.

My Top 5:
1. CA and clearly on top, in fact in the top ten bat makers worldwide.
2. RNS Larsons
3. BAS
4. SS
5. AM

CA is up there with the best of them and that includes Newbery, GM and the like.

Interesting picks, I haven't seen much of RNS so I don't know about them. Have seen tons of SS but I don't like them because I don't find there shapes to be good and feel is not good either but that's me. BAS on other hand is brilliant very good bats and very good shapes as well.

AM people aren't very rich, hence, you don't see a lot of there bats being floated in the market. A friend of mine have AM and it is a beauty very very good bat and he also scored his madien (I believe) century with it. The feel and ping on AM bats is second to none!

The best in Pakistan are AM and CA, MB is good too but not as good as those two. MBs finishing is very good I must add.

If CA start using top handles then I don't see why they can't excel in global market.

Mind telling us why exactly you chose CA as number one? Also if you don't mind me asking can you tell me how many bat makers had left in Pakistan I mean how many brands after partion? So since 1947 CA have the same batmaker?

Cheers

CD how are you? Chatted CB UK a few times.
RNS is widely viewed by those in the know as the best pressed Indian bat, when hand picked they are as good as any. Had a few CA's in my time from mid range to top of the range and all go consistently their handles need to be improved in comparison to Newbery as Newbery in my opinion have the best handles of any bat on the market.

BAS are balance and very consistent performers bat handles let them down. As I am close with Talisman his opinion as like mine that CA are the best Asian bat and right up there with many UK bat makers, but handles do need to be improved.

I maybe also selling a few CA's in Australia as I am a great believer in the brand.

I'm good mate how about yourself? I know you To be honest it is great to have you hear, top top guy and poster you are!

Do you have any RNS? If so pictures would be appreciated as I don't know if I have seen any. How is there pressing? Usually we see Asian bats having soft soft pressing hence they don't last long, are RNS different from them ?

I agree they need to be improved, I'm not very knowledgeable on handles but when I compare top of my CA and GM 808 I don't see a different both are same in my opinion. Personally I have not seen any problems with CA handles yet.

As I earlier said I don't know much about handles but the best shape of handle in my opinion and what suited me the best is Laver & Wood's handle, brilliant and the best one for me.

I have always liked BAS but SS and SG never for some reasons.

I have CA 12000 Plus and I haven't used it for a while but I must add the feel of that bat is the best after my Icon to be honest.

RNS have a balance between performance and durability and last and go great from the start similar to Newbery. I rank Tim Keeley and Newbery as the benchmark in bat making. Laver and Wood have been a massive disappointment for me and will never buy another again.

SS are above SG and you only have to ask Indian industry insiders to get that feedback but SS lack imagination in their bat profiles as all are very similar but in saying that all SS bats I have owned have performed well

Ah okay, will try to look out for RNS out there

I have Newbery and they are impressive, I really like the one I have I rate it among one of the best I have.

Laver & Wood is good too and I like it and I'm happy with them as well! I agree they are not performing very well but I always liked the profile and always wanted to get them. I believe performance will be around the corner too!

How was your SCAT?

Exactly! All of SS I have seen seem to have same sort of shape. I believe SS bats are very soft pressed hence they perform well, I don't see them lasting more than a season assuming you use them everytime

i currently own a master blaster bat manufactured by sg cricket.

the bat has beautiful pick up and once u knock the bat perfectly in, its a beauty.

i wud either say sg or ss for indian cricket brands

and ca, malik, or ihsan for pakistan brands.

most of the famous cricket players use ss tons, so i wud recommend that but the feel of the bat is most important.

I know I saw it but is SCAT really good for that price? I mean are they justified paying that price?

Not paying $650 AUD as there are so many bats that are comparable in quality and performance but I think one must buy one at least once.

You never get a dud from SCAT almost always good.
