Allama Iqbal said 90 years ago that If Afghanistan is in turmoil, whole Asia would be
This warning of General Zia is hauntingly true for today as well. Afghan Taliban/Hekmatyar/Haqqani are fighting the US/NATO to throw out the occupation just as they did against the Soviets. We betrayed the Afghan resistance and now the war has entered Pakistan! Now is the time to remain firm! Do NOT panic! Khair inshAllah!

Zia was the best leader Pak had since quaid e azam! may allah grant him high jannah. He was brave and stood up against a super power soviet union and also started kashmir jihad and the khalistan movement. If he didn't get assasinated he would of broken india like the soviets!

He is quite right...next target of US seems to be Pakistan, not directly but indirectly. I heard many good things about Zia but obviously everyone has haters in Pakistan and he has his share of haters too.

The coldwar super power Soviet Union was broken up by its arch rival and another super power US. Rest of the other nations during that era acted as mere pawns to be used by these powers.
In the coldwar era, no country however non-aligned they were in international politics, would not dare to cross the path of either of these powers sheerly by their own mettle without the support of the other superpower backing it, if they did they would have been in history books as former nations. |
