could it be....

could we......have beaten the mighty australians....WITHOUT SHOAIB AKHTAR??? thats like......running with a broken back....rolling without our "lynch pin"!?!?! how can such a miraculous feat have been achieved with a "toothless attack" and an "idiot, chicken captain"? Its a modern marvel. :oD

sorry guys I know its not the nicest thing to say but just had to get some frustration out. you all knew this was coming!!!

And not to forget the second test against Sri Lanka. The Ferrari wasn't playing, broken down, being serviced ... strange that.

I'd be really interested if someone could do a breakdown of matches where Shoaib's efforts were a significant factor in Pakistan winning.

Very very interesting indeed. Almost amusing I should say.

Either you didnt watch or even follow the game or youd continue to do a disservice to Inzi's case by bringing this in.

that guy just repeats the same stats over and over again. if only stats were that important!

seriously though this does prove one thing....we CAN win without shoaib and we CAN bowl well without him. Not that I needed any convincing but there are doubters out there who should think twice now! lynch-pin my @#$!

the last time Akhtar had a performance that significantly contributed to us winning was the game against the ********* in the ICC CHmpions Trophy at Birmingham. Picked up 4 wickets, two of them fairly crucial (and broke potentially dangerous partnership).

Yes it was significant but not match-winning. Let's not forget that Rana also took 4 wickets in the game and the tremendous knock by Youhana under pressure. As the great injured one said - "Cricket is a team game." Funny how he wasn't saying that when claiming all the credit for Pakistan winning games!

We should celebrate beating the Aussies.

They had their best team with all their main players there but we had our second string of bowlers and we still won.

There was no Kotha, Sami, Shabbir or Gul and Khalil and Rao only have a few games between them.

The last few times we've played the Aussies we pushed them close.

If we get to Final then we need to give them good matches. Remember the last 3 finals we've played them in:

World Cup '99
Natwest Series 2001
Videocon Cup 2004

We have to show the World that we can beat the Aussies. If we get to the Finals and get thrashed twice it would have been pointless.

Too often we have lost big games that matter
