The Sri Lankan seam bowling allrounder thread
Over the years despite an overreliance on Murali and Vaas Sri Lanka have actually played, fleetingly, some very capable seam-bowling allrounders who have either been prematurely or harshly dropped or simply not lived up to the mark (usually the former though)
Suresh Perera, Thilan Thushara, Dilhara Lokuhettige, Farveez Maharoof and now Thissara Perera who has been quite impressive with attacking leg-cutters and brisk nip off the pitch, in addition he can belt the ball a long long way. Funny thing is that given the track record of Sri Lanka's selection he may not be secure for the near future either Discuss |

BUMP.
Maharoof and Perera (also Mathews) have Australia on the ropes and InshaAllah SL will win this |

SL should play all three matthews , Perera , and Maharoof. All different kinds of all rounders.
Matthews is a pure Batting all rounder , where as Maharoof is a bowling all rounder.

The three allrounders Mathews, Maharoof and Perera have been superb MashaAllah in this tournament. SL have been the most convincing side, the two starting losses were close and since then they've been superb in each facet

I'm surprised Kulasekera hasn't been mentioned in this thread. He can be devastating with the new ball.

Genuinely misread the 'allrounder' part. But yeah as you say, he does have potential.
I hope Hammad can one day reach Mathews' level. |
