Umar Gul performance review thread
So now the Sri Lanka series is over i though it would be nice to review Gul performance.
Before the Test series started they were some questioning his automatic selection in the playing 11, it felt like an attack of Wahab, Junaid and Cheema would be a better option. Guls stats for the series; TEST Wickets: 14 Average: 24.14 Economy: 2.95 ODI Wickets: 4 Average: 36.75 Economy: 4.34 T20 Wickets: 2 Average: 8.00 Economy: 6.40 The most important stats to look at are in the Test arena, many including me thought Gul wasn't a Test match bowler, he proved us wrong on the flattest of pitches he bowled great line and lengths also his ability to pick wickets with the new ball was good to see. Things that he might need to work on is his speed which constantly has been in the early 130 kmph whilst Fernando and Malinga have easily reached 140kmph. Also Guls yorker has been off target recently and i would like for him to work on it more. All in all the old Gul is definitely back and throughout the series he has proved the management right by picking him as the leader of the bowling attack

What fool thought Junaid, Cheema and Riaz was the way to go?
Gul is really maturing in Tests MashaAllah In the tour he struck 1st over less no that 4 times |
