If Imran comes in power, what changes can we expect in the cricketing structure?

Being a former captain himself and knowing how it works, I'm sure he will make PCB corruption-less and cut the Patron-in-Chief tie. But what else is there to be done other than bringing back international cricket? because I think Imran is the only person to do that too.

If nothing else, cricket will prosper under Imran Khan

So, what do you think?

If he comes to power and has time to work on cricket, his scheduling assistant should be the first to go.

Is this really something to discuss about.

So by Imran Khan coming into power, you probably mean him become president right?

So if Imran Khan comes into power, he will have alot more stuff to worry about, instead of cricket. Infact i doubt that he would have any time for it.

Imran Khan would do one simple thing!

He would nominate 3-4 regional cricket club presidents for chairman spot, and ask the rest of the club members to vote for the best one they think would be. Shimple

I think Cricket would be the last thing to worry about. I think the first thing he should do is make the board independent i.e no appointment of any board member by government or president. Like another member said the cricket board should be independent and democratic with strict auditing every six months.

Personally, I think he should be made the chairman of PCB. Because I don't believe he will come into power (govt. wise) any time soon.

Thanks a lot Bro. Imran Khan's party is getting a lot of support now in the country. The days of Nawaz Sharif and Zardari are over and you will see this in the coming elections InshaAllah. Wait for the Jalsa in karachi on 25th. Anyway, this is off topic.

With the current domestic set up there are way too many teams lot of rubbish players are playing there isn't much of competition. With lesser teams only the good players will be able to make the teams and rubbish players would stay out so there will be lot of competition lot of good players will come out.

First of all I am not the one who said that I would bring Australian cricket structure (Sheffield Shield); it was Imran Khan himself who said that. Second of all with the current domestic setup how many good players are playing and how many are rubbish? I can can grantee you that there are quite few players in the current domestic set who are just rubbish and don't deserve to be in the team they are just there to fill in the space.

Plus, I don't think anyone in this forum knows much about cricket then Imran Khan. I would go with Imran Khan on whatever he says about cricket.

8 top teams, where every player is selected on merit, means best of the best coming through the system.

Imran, as always, is spot on with this

Believe in Allah. He is the biggest protector.

And you know what, CHORs also know that killing a rising popular leader can bring chaos and even hard revolution. Remember, its has been the youth that has been supporting Imran... so things can get realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly bad if (God forbid) something bad happens to Imran.

Anyway, coming to the topic... Imran has always talked about Australian system... so probably he would try to implement something similar here !!

Atm we have 22 teams. 12 in division 1 and 10 in division 2.

Less teams will raise competition, allowing domestic players to earn more and if teams are based regional wise they will surely attract crowds... it all seems too easy.

Take a look at the number of players we have! We can't have few teams, with numbers of 6-8. Look at Australia, they can't even find a decent spinner

There is no rocket science behind a lot of things Imran Khan says. But intentions should be honest

The ruling party appoints people as PCB heads to reward them for their loyalty. They are not accountable to anyone but the president.

An elected head will be accountable to the associations
