Mobilicity
Who here uses that?
I bought my sister a plan, it will be around $14 per month and she will get unlimited texting and calling and caller ID. I think with data it was additional $7 bucks per month but we didn't want to buy my sister data plan yet, she is tooo young for that yet .I think it is peanuts, Bell 'Pay-As-You-Go' is $15 a month being the cheapest so in my opinion this Mobilicity plan is quite brilliant. What are Canadian peeps view on it? Last edited by Cover Drive; 10th January 2012 at 04:26. |

I know it is not as good as Big-Guns but $14 is dead cheap for it! Coverage is quite good in the areas we live and go, some areas it won't work but I'm sure she won't be going to those areas

How is it in comparison to Wind?
My sister has Wind and the coverage is pretty poor even for the cheap price. I'd probably toss my phone if I had to deal with that kind of coverage. ![]() Definitely sounds good for a young person, though.

I use it.
![]() The features I have are: Unlimited global texting, unlimited & anytime US/Canada calling, unlimited data plan, call forwarding, caller id, voicemail, and 3-ways communication, for $37.55 (this is with tax). ![]() I've been using their service for over a year and it's pretty good. The only place I encounter disruptions or no service is Walmart & underground areas like the MTCC. I couldn't get a signal there for heck!

Cant wait to get off Bell. I have family members on Mobilicity. The coverage area is pretty much from Oakville to about Markham and thereabouts. But 14 bucks unlimited talk and text you cant beat that jack.
Issue with these small carriers is phones mobilicity, wind, public just don't have the better phones. And when I say better phones I obviously do not include the iPhone in that list. |

I have been with mobi since august. They're a solid carrier. I have the 25 back to school plan which lasts for life as well a 2 dollar discount per month as long as I preauthorize payments from a credit card. It's great for a university student like me who barely leaves the city.
When I joined them it was a breath of fresh air for me; they were miles cheaper than any of the big 3 and much better than wind. My stay with wind was a disaster. Very incompetent customer service who constantly lied to me in stores and kept hanging up on me after telling me they're sending me to some back office... I've called mobi twice and went in store a few times and they're always competent and got the job done. The thing I probably hated the most about wind was the fact they only wanted new customers and didn't care about them after they joined. After I joined wind about a week or two later they put all their plans on 50% off (similar to Mobi's holiday season promo in 2011) and wouldn't let me switch. Mobi on the other hand doesn't restrict people from switching to promotional plans at all, nor do they charge a fee for switching plans like wind does. Their only real problem these days is that they took on too many people (more specifically data users) after selling data for only 5 bucks per month... and it has really overloaded the network. Unlimited data for 5 bucks is a stupid idea especially for a small network and it has made data slow in a lot of parts (of Toronto at least). They're also lagging behind wind in expanding and upgrading data (wind is hspa+ while mobi is still hspa). Apart from that if you live within the coverage zone and dont mind data that gets a little slow they're the best carrier by far in terms of price. Most people don't know but Mobi is funded only by Canadians and some Americans. Wind is backed by Orascom one of the biggest telephone carriers in the world which is why theyre expanding so quickly compared to Mobi who have far more limited resources.
