Vengsarkar warns India

KOLKATA, Jan 30: Former Indian captain Dilip Vengsarkar believes Pakistan, currently having a horrid time in Australia, would perform well against India in coming home cricket series next month.

Vengsarkar, who does talent spotting and researching for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) promises a keen series next month. He feels Shoaib Akhtar would be the man to watch. Akhtar has gone through a lot in recent days and would be keen to restore his reputation.

Besides, there is this matter to settle from last series where Shoaib was ineffective and Indian batsmen made hay, he added. He also rates Yousuf Youhana and Salman Butt as two dangerous customers who could trouble Indians.

"The thing is they might have struggled on bouncy Australian pitches but in India they would find conditions familiar to what they experience at home." Vengsarkar wants complete ban on 'chucking by bowlers in under-age competitions organised by BCCI.

Chucking is more prevalent at junior level and boys could carry same style in higher level of competitions." He asked BCCI to keep a close watch on erring cricketers and suggest ways of remedy. -PPI
