Difference Between Pakistan and Japan

Both Japan and Pakistan have had to deal with serious natural disasters in the recent past. In both countries, thousands of lives were lost, substantial damage done to the economy, and fears of a repeated episode.

But while Pakistan was shown to have done nothing to prepare for floods in the future, Japan has already started innovating in case of any future earthquakes.

I don't think we can hold the government responsible for things like this. At the end of the day the government can only do so much. In the video below, it is private companies and entrepreneurs who are innovating to come up with ways to prepare for the next big one. Why can't Pakistan do the same?

What I meant was that the government has limited resources. I'm not talking about their corruption. Even if there wasn't any corruption, it's resources would still be limited.

And more importantly, I was pointing to the individual entrepreneurship in Japan as the video shows.

Japanese people in general are so well mannered because thats how their culture is, People from the subcontinent tend to suffer more with disorders, such as backbiting, gossiping, mocking and slandering, even though all are prohibited in the Quran, Guru Granth Sahib Ji and other religions. We are gappe-baaz!

Can you not derail the thread. I'm not talking about those "disasters". I'm talking about the Kashmir earthquake and the recent floods. As for the earthquake, I have read recently that even 7 years on, only 60% of the destroyed schools have been rebuilt. And in terms of floods, nothing has been done to prevent the disasters from causing the same type of havoc again.

CT should stick to making threads on IK, including latest sightings etc. The world seems to start and end with IK for him. Serious question for CT, how old are you ?

To OP.

Japan is a developed country, it has the 3rd largest economy in the world in terms of nominal GDP. Its a manufacturing, technology and research powerhouse e.g. it has it's own space exploration agency. To compare it with Pakistan, a developing country with a large population living under poverty and majority of them illiterate is asking for too much.

Amazed at the simplicity of thought. If you would have said that Japanese people are more hard working, more disciplined, more patriotic, I would have been fine but well mannered. What does mannerism have to do with economic progress. You may be watching too many Indian drama's or soap's and confusing Saas Bahoo relationship with how countries progress.

They realized their issues after last earthquake, worked on it, less curruption and made progress. There is nothing in this world which can't happen if its done sincerely.

If Pakistan has not found a solution, it is because they have not tried to find a solution. The priority was in political scandals, international affairs and other things apart from flood.

The answer is one word:Intelligence.
To be blunt the poorer the country the lower the overall IQ of the country. If you compare the average IQ of the population with its social and economic development you end up seeing a close correlation.
We have more natural resources than Japan( and most countries in the world) but Japan X times richer than us and always will be.

Japan is a highly educated, technologically advanced nation that is more prepared for natural disasters due to its geographical location.

Look how quickly they repaired this road for example - in six days.

Believers of what? Pakistan is antithesis of Islam. Poor are treated like crap and everything that is anathema to islam is found in abundance.

Many businesses and companies have suffered losses and closed down or at least they could make much more profit if there was no loadshedding and the security situation better . In Karachi , so many times it has happened that rioters have burned down hundreds of shops , vehicles and what not . The police and rangers are basically useless , they may help the injured people or remove the dead bodies but they will not stop the criminals .

Our problems are much basic , it is silly to compare Japan with Pakistan . There are non profit organizations that provide people with ambulance service , free healthcare , free food , free mass marriages of orphans with dowries . Where does money for all that comes from ? Of course the Pakistani people in Pakistan and around the world who have been contributing and we are talking hundreds of millions of rupees everyday !!!

And let me tell you , even if the government wanted , they could not provide so much fund everyday for the people . The government does make a contribution ( however small it is ) the money is really mismanaged in most government institutions .

Another problem is the brain drain in Pakistan . Most people with an education in Pakistan ( want to ) move to other countries while people from around the world would not mind moving to Japan and work there .
