PCB Media Release: Sohail Tanvir fined 100% Match fees for remarks on umpiring

Lahore March 29, 2012:

Mr. Sohail Tanvir, Captain of Rawalpindi Rams have been fined his full match fee for making comments on the umpiring during a match of Faysal Bank Super 8 T-20 Tournament being played at Pindi Stadium Rawalpindi.

The breach of the Code of Conduct on part of Mr. Sohail Tanvir took place in the 8th match of the tournament which was Rawalpindi Rams against Karachi Dolphins.

Match refree Mr. Arshad Pervaiz Bata called up a hearing in which Sohail Tanvir has been found guilty under Clause 2.2.3 of PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel and thus fined full amount of his match fee.

I personally think that umpires should be fined too.

no the poor players can't even complain about anything

Umpires don't make mistakes on purpose you realize that right? These are human errors.

Will you now fine a player for playing a false stroke and getting out or a bowler for bowling a bad ball that gets hit for a boundary?

Then should we fine selectors that select a player who fails or a squad that loses?

You should take alook at those "human errors" made by the umpire in the recent Rawal Pindi Vs Lahore Eagles game......

Those were some easy decisions, to give not out... If umpires can't make the right judgement on these easy decisions, then they should be no where near for an international call up. Infact they should be sacked immediately...

No if they're fined a little fees then they'll surely try to give the right decision and not make too many blunders.

Oh my Pindi fans. This whole tournament was planned to make sure you guys lose didn't you know? Umpiring isn't the reason Pindi has been losing it's their captain.

Yes but then again do umpires give the wrong decision on purpose? If they do then they shouldn't even be there and the problem lies with the administrators.

Lost due to poor umpiring? Naved Malik was plumb LBW off Sohail Khan bery early in the innings and he scored 50+. Other than that I couldn't see any howler from the umpire in that match. Don't blame the umpired for the 1st match lost.

1st match lost due to the epic innings of Khalid.

2nd match lost due to the quality innings of Taufeeq Umar.

Administration do have a problem, the Third Umpire was using the phone instead of watching the match, In any other country he would've been fined.

The problem is that the umpiring have been not good, How to improve it?
