Why didn't Azhar Mahmood play in Pakistan's domestic T20 tournament?
I was just thinking Azhar Mahmood has been amazing for Kent for many years in T20 and also had a very good BPL.
He was due to play a big part in the IPL but however now may play only a handful of games. I would naturally expect him to do reasonably well. Now the question is why didn't he play the flagship domestic tournament. Surely with a new coach he knew there was a chance for one final chance in the T20 world cup playing for Pakistan. I cant help but believe if he played in Pakistans domestic tournament and performed with a good IPL and many years of consistently being very good for Kent and a good performance in the BPL he would of been picked for Pakistan. I know he is old but the T20 world cup doesnt care how old players are. Now that he bats top 3 and bowls a mix of medium-fast he could of been ideal. |

he's past his sell-by date for Pakistani standards, IPL, BPL, FPT20 can enjoy him all they want. Really dont wanna see him in the Pakistan XI, much sharper players ahead of him queuing up.
