Who is your favourite music artist?

Mine is probably Tiesto...

I don't really like Rap, but there is one rapper that I respect and like a lot, his name is Immortal Technique, he is a very truthful person, he often raps about politics etc, but very good rap song and very nice, I suggest you check up songs like Angel of Death, Bin Laden, Internally Bleeding etc. He also talks about Poverty etc like check out his song Dance with the devil with the devil etc.

If you like IT, check out Lowkey too. His album Soundtrack To The Struggle is phenomenal. Here is a track.

Yeah I heard, sad new. I'm sure he will be back in the future.

My personal favourite is Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the greatest vocalist of all time imo. I can't stand rock, indie whatever it is, reminds me of people playing with pots and pans in the kitchen.

Totally : I was into the neo-liberalized Amreekan/mainstream auditive cataclysm before I discovered Radiohead, some six years ago - "In Rainbows" was the first album, and it's still a favourite mehmaan of my play-list.

Never really had a "favourite" musician/band.

I just listen to songs I like from all sorts of genres and musicians.

All time I'd say.

Massive Lennon fan as well.

On Radiohead. All their LPs are good/great - but The Bends gets you in the mood and OK Computer is the daddy on the night, with Kid A the tonic for the morning after. In Rainbows will then wind you down in the evening.

I'm a big fan of Freddie Mercury. Simon and Garfunkel have to be up there as well.

I don't like Radiohead. IMO they lack melody and that singer's voice is like nails on a blackboard.

My all-time favourite band is one of The Who, Rush or Pink Floyd.

My favourite artist is the pianist and singer Bruce Hornsby, who had some hits singles in the mid-eighties but is now a jazz-country-soul crossover guy. Intelligent lyricist and wonderful pianist.

I listen to a lot of jazz these days. Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis and so on.

Best of British? There are many contenders. It comes down to who are your personal favourite vocalists, musicians, songwriters, lyricists and personalities.

Here are but a few - Noel Gallagher, James Dean Bradfield, Robert Plant, Pete Townshend, Roger Waters, Ian Curtis, Brett Anderson, Bernard Butler, Richard Ashcroft, Nick McCabe.

Freddie Mercury is of course a legend. More talent in his little finger than most music artists. One of the most astounding vocal ranges of the last century and all without a formal singing lesson. Brilliant songwriter to boot.

i used to be a big immortal fan when i was your age, i heard dance with the devil when i was in school and i was like as i got older i found his constant socialist rhetoric a bit tiresome, still got his last album although not many of his tracks made it to my play list.

cant say anyone is my favourite anymore, but really like some beethoven, mozart, chopin in classics.

used to listen to snow patrol, guns and roses, kings of leon, linkin park quite a lot.

big fan of white snake, eric clapton, chris de burgh from the old school ballady stuff.

have a lot of old tupac rap tracks from way back.

also like some vybz kartel, mavado, jamaican riddim mixes every now and again.

then in desi music like attah ullah a lot. and used to be a big junoon fan too.

theres pbly loads im missing out.

Can't agree with that... in fact, Jonny Greenwood would be the main reason. If you take him out of Radiohead, there's no more Radiohead, IMO : he's the artistic spine of the band which actually makes it musically innovative.

My other fav. English bands would be Joy Division, Pink Floyd, Queen, Depeche Mode, The Verve, Oasis, ... other less-known acts would be Caravan, Re-Flex or The Delgados.

Amongst solo artists, toss between Billy Idol, Trent Reznor - the only likeable Amreekan - and Osamu Kitajima.

In my depressed days I actually love a bit of jazz too, esp. what we call the bebop movement : Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane & particularly Thelonious Monk, some favourites of mine.

I grew up on a heavy dosage of sex pistols, velvet underground & grateful dead. Currently big fan of Apocolyptica -- four guys on cello playing Metallica covers, also big fan of Dream Theater -- relatively unknown but their music & prose in each song is so encapsulating
