We had a take away in glasgow called halal kebab house, the partners had a fight and one opened a takeaway next door called pak halal house or something. The ensuing price slash battle was epic.

I really miss all the halal food outlets I had access to in Glasgow, now although I stay quite close to bham or coventry its still a 20ish minute drive, which may not be a lot but when I had halal food places on my doorstep before it seems like an epic journey now. Food in Birmingham is fantastic though.

You're from Sheffield OP ?, nice.

Bradford has one, too, from non-seedy Kurds, I may add.

My cousin was singing the praises of Fortune Cookie, still haven't tried it

Which place does the 35" Pizza?

No, I don't have a takeaway, I was talking about my house

Uncle B's does the 35" Pizza in Bradford. It's directly opposite the Uni.

Here in Newcastle there is not that many places (though a lot better than it used to be) and as a result the prices are still quite high. Fish and Chips is between £4.00-4.50 and that is for 1 person. Pizza's are not as good and they cost around £6-7. The best Pizza is probably from Dixy Chicken and that is £6 for a Chicken Tikka
Hmmm, I wonder how Dixxy's Pizza would taste, always loved their burgers.

I buy naan from Mithaas as well. Their pastries are delicious.
Oh that place. It was called 'Paradise East'. That place closed down very quickly.

The reason food is cheap in Bradford is because of the ridiculous amount of competition there is. Every Tom, Daood and Haroon has a takeaway around here, so prices have to be slashed to remain competitive. The quality of food is awesome and the portion sizes get bigger, again to remain competitive. For example, you'll get a bag of Fish and Chips for £3.50. What is in that portion? A helluva lot of chips and 2 massive fishes. It's so big, that 2 people can probably eat it and both will be full for a whole day.
There is more competition in Birmingham than Bradford. I've been to Bradford many times and the food is pretty good. The North has lower wagers than the south so prices have always been more reasonable. The point I was making I decide to go to a place depending on what they can offer not their prices. I could get a full chicken at a good low price but prefer Nando's so go there.
