Really?

Difficult, being one of the most talented individuals in a sport you love to play?

Difficult being admired by millions all over the world?

Difficult doing the thing you love day in day out and getting paid handsomely?

Difficult travelling the world and getting to see all sorts of cultures, people and places?

One of the most ridiculous statements I have ever heard.

It's not Swann or players because tweets are coming during the game.

My prediction is it's either someone from ECB, media person(most likely) or someone who is pro-Adidas worker or anti-Adidas worker. I see sarcastic plugging of Adidas, so I will say Pro-Adidas PR guy who has links with ECB.

Not IPL specifically, but T20, yes.

There is no universally preferred form of cricket. Every form has their own set of people who dislike them. What matters is how many dislikes are there and the one with the least succeeds. At present, T20 is that form which is being popular with the fans.

Hayden worked well as the loudmouthed tool that blows hard in the media and winds up the opposition. But this level of intellect doesn't translate well to the commentary box.

If you're referring to 13-year old teenage girls running after their favourite Bollywood actors, then yes. But otherwise, T20 and Ipl are both hackish forms of the game. You'll see dozens of folks even in this forum who couldn't care less about the format, but nobody dispels the same attitude when it comes to test cricket. They may be indifferent to the cause, but there is no outright hate to the longest form of the game. It's here to stay.

Maybe true, but those next couple years include some big away tours, back-to-back Ashes, World T20s, and WC etc.

For example without KP's last two 100s in Tests, England would have lost to Sri Lanka 0-2, and lost this series 0-2.

These are the margins KP brings to England, literally the difference in winning in losing.

It might be a possibility that it is controlled by a third party while the team is on the field of play.

Or are you talking about this Headingley fixture that just went by? Swann was in the dressing room for most of the while.

I really doubt someone would potentially throw away their international career and the massive paycheck that comes with it just to wind-up KP.

It has been going on for alot longer than that, I'm pretty certain it has tweeted while Swann was on the field so can't be 100% him.

Broady must have been putting away the junk food on his week off. He rocked up to nets today looking heavy. He must be at least 7 stone now.

Buzzing with my new car! Why would KP want a Jag like the other England boys? Genius needs to be different.

Yorkshire fancy signing KP on loan for Finals day? Make sure theres a big crowd.I dont play T20 in front of less than 20,000

This, if true, might explain the doubt

They may be indifferent to the cause, but there is no outright hate to the longest form of the game. It's here to stay.
That could be your opinion. But, that is far from the truth. The T20 fans, like myself, are those who are massively entertained by it and span across all generations. Forums are a biased sample - have a look at the people who go to T20 or IPL to watch the matches. There is no generalisation that you can apply. I can bet most of those could care less about tests, who wins or loses.I don't care about tests.

Tests will stay. I never said that they will die. The focus will be on the T20 and that is definitely happening as we speak.

KP is in the news for all the wrong reasons lately, he is giving a lot of reasons to everyone to take him to the cleaners but i'm seriously surprised with some of the comments made by English fans, on the internet and over here on PP. I thought KP was as English as anyone else but now that he is the butt of the jokes, he is not English anymore? Newspapers calling him a South African and some fans on here thinking he is not English for various reasons, i wonder what happened to all that "Oh he is English, we welcomed him, we made him, we gave him opportunities, he is as English as we are", real colors of people gotta come out somehow but that was pretty quick from English fans.I guess a "Step son" will always be a step son

England need KP more than KP needs England.

Without KP, England are a seriously weakened batting lineup in all formats of the game.

And as for KP, he will retire with a tremendous international record and his massive appeal to T20 tournaments around the world (especially IPL) means that he will also remain a very rich man.

Who needs England?

Pakistan need Afridi more than Afridi needs Pakistan, are you saying you wouldn't care if he retired from all forms of the game?

Of recent times I've seen KP's two greatest hundreds. A hundred at P Sara in Colombo that gave England the chance to draw a series from behind and this hundred at Headingley. There is no back-up player, or even current player, that England have who has the ability to change a game so violently or anywhere near as fast. KP is something special.
Great quote this. I dont know why people think England can easily replace KP. Do people think a Trott-like batsman who takes an age to score his runs would be able to replace a machine like KP? KP is capable of making big scores and quickly aswell. England has no one like that.

On the other hand, England can be replaced for KP.

Add South Africa to that list.

Outside these three countries, people dont really care for test cricket. Although you come across a genuine love for test cricket on cricket forums, you have to realise that the majority of fans dont post on forums.

The lack of crowds and the dead atmosphere at test matches in the subcontinent and places like NZ and West Indies is proof that their fans are more attracted towards the shorter forms of the game.

Dont let these guys fool you. Test cricket may be the purest form of the game but its lack of appeal in most countries cant be denied.

Well, South Africa changed the traditional Boxing Day test to Boxing Day T20. And, there have been cases where they cancel tests to have ODI or T20 matches instead.

Hardly a stronghold.

I think it goes a bit deeper than that. At that time of year, holiday makers are usually down in Durban, which is why the Boxing Day test was traditionally held in Durban.

However given the team's recently poor record in Durban at that time of year, they probably looked for a way to remove it from the calendar without seeming too conspicuous. CSA may not admit as much, but I'm pretty sure that's the reason.

Stop being so pedantic, lol.
CSA see more opportunity to make money from a full stadium during Boxing Day through ODIs and T20s.
