Pakistan Up to 4th in the T20I Rankings [Now 6th]

After today's win Pakistan have moved above India and the West Indies in the ICC T20 international rankings table.

Generally speaking ... The higher your team is ranked in T20, the crappiest standard of cricket it is good at playing.

Pakistan is now placed fourth in the ICC T20 table and also has the most wins in T20 Internationals.

Saj can you please add most wins in T20 in the title?

Deserved this...But there seems to be something bizarre in these rankings...They are too fast as the game is itself....
From 6th to 4th just in one match..Two ranks up by winning just a single game...
Now,they must not take us back to 6th place if we loose the next one..

We're not that crap in ODIs...

We have groomed youngsters in Jamshed, Azhar, Asad, U.Akmal, and Junaid. And we almost beat the Aussies as well. That's not bad...

It's because of small sample size.

Almost beat is not the same as winning.

Since 2010 we have lost ODI series in England, against SA, Eng in UAE, SL in SL and Aus in UAE.

That seems like a pretty crappy team to me. We have a few good youngsters to look forward to but as along as we keep playing the oldies and keep people like Hammad Azam and Haris Sohail out of the side we will never progress.

Give our youngsters a chance, after all, we did win the Asia Cup and we are Asian Champs.

BTW LL_PK, your signature doesn't make sense. After the top 6 batsmen, there will be a WK (unless you want to make U.Akmal WK, which he is not willing to do), and then there will only be room for 4 bowlers. You have taken Hafeez out of your team, so either you are expecting Azhar to bowl 10 overs, or you are expecting U.Akmal to keep wickets and adding a 5th bowler there.

Lol it is a hypothetical team that probably would never play together. But would really like to see these youngsters along with Hammad and Fawwad once the 2015 WC comes round.

The ranking is funny though. If Pakistan lose the next game against the Aussies, they will drop down below India and West Indies in the ranking and remain there even if they win the series 2-1. If India wins 2-0 against New Zealand they will leapfrog to 3rd above SL. So 1 win or loss makes a lot of difference in the T20 ranking.

Ya, which makes sense I suppose since barely any T20s are played at all. Not only that but everyone is about the same rating points also... so every game couns

Do we drop points for tying Australia today? Even though we won the super over the game still goes down as a tie, and tying 9th ranked team might bring us down a bit??

Ranking in T20 does not mean anything, even in ODI's the rankings is not a true reflection of a teams talent the only format that ranking is really meaningful is Test.

Forget the Clean Sweep. Pakistan down to 6th position after losing today's match.
