Tendulkar's Feelings Hurt ?

One empty plastic bottle was thrown in the direction of Tendulkar and he complained to the umpire.

Taufel's on his walky talky straight away to the match referee.

Pathetic really !

Talk about making an incident out of nothing.

I've seen grounds where it was raining bottles when Pak were in the field

I doubt Tendulkars feeling was hurt, more likely when he goes out to bat and he see's the same fan and he hits the ball hard into the direction into the face and hits the fan

Edited by mods - Playa, in future dont use disgusting language on this forum

And I've seen an Indian captain being hit by spectators at the very venue we are playing this test. Your point?

My point is that when the crowd erupted in Delhi and started throwing most of their worldly posessions onto the field of play, the Pakistan team stood around smiling and playing down the issue.

Today, a tiny plastic bottle which was empty was thrown by one fan, did not hit the fielder and Tendulkar makes a big issue of it. Thankfully Dravid saw sense and just got on with the game.

Tendulkar trying to make an issue out of nothing.

right now the only thing hurting would be his ego and more so his head I am sure.. a 90 plus mile bouncer should feel like being hit by a mohammed ali punch.. i dont care how strong the helmet is.

Took it smiling? The Pak team complained and rightly so against some obnoxious Delhi crowd behaviour and Tendulkar did the same. Big deal. Get on with the game. I would not like bottled hitting me on the field.

Googly wrote "get on with the game". Exactly what Tendulkar should have done.

Note for your information, the scenario at Delhi and the situation today was slightly different (by about 400 bottles)

well said. history is witness to that. 1000 years of history which the indians dont even mention in their history books.

Quote:
4.5 Shoaib Akhtar to Tendulkar, legbye: one run, bouncer banged in! the
ball spears down leg, Tendulkar tries to duck but is clocked on
the helmet! That is a ball and a half! Somehow a legbye is stolen
Pace like fire from Shoaib Akhtar!
4.4 Shoaib Akhtar to Tendulkar, no run, short one banged in, a bit of
pace as well, Tendulkar watches that very very carefully and sways
out of the way
Shoaib Akhtar is in gear now. India's batsmen need to be real
careful.
4.3 Shoaib Akhtar to Sehwag, OUT: short one dug in just outside the
off, the ball appears to come in with the arm but pitches and
straightens, there's a bit of extra bounce as well, edged to the
keeper! Another big wicket gone!

India 14/2, Partnership of 5
V Sehwag c Kamran Akmal b Shoaib Akhtar 5 (4b 1x4 0x6)
VVS Laxman 5* (12b 1x4) Shoaib Akhtar 2.3-0-11-1 (1nb)

Pakistan are storming back into this game after the dire straits
they were in at the end of the first over of the day's play
bharat wasiyon, kahan chupe ho? why am i banned on ICF, hmmm?
all i did was point them to a bunch of UN resolutions!!

saj, you sure they started throwing their worldly possessions, the baniyas of bharat doing that, i seriously doubt it

Bhai, i think he was jsut tossing a bottle of water to sachin for a drink. Maybe he saw sachin thirstry and wanted to make him feel welcome in karachi. Sachine took it the wrong way. It was a confusion on both ends.

All i ahve to say for anone ele is Calcutta, Calcutta, Calcutta. Those guys throw stuff on the field like its going out of style. There is like a sea of bottles in the outfield sometimes.
I know that its not classy to point the finger at someone else after my own crowd behaved badly but give me a break. I saw my team go down 3 wickets for no runs and make an unbelievable comeack. No way am i gonna be disisng our crowd.

It is Tendulkar's favourite pass time to make big deal out of petty issues, he makes a big deal out of sight screen whenever he is playing so dont be surprised if you see his cry baby behaviour among other things too.

Big deal out of sight screen?

Nauman some people love perfections in the surroundings they work in. And I'm sure you term yourself as one.

Now to some a couple of things related to designing on this board are petty issues but to you it becomes a life and death one.

He can make himself useful and keep the sight screen clear for the rest of the batsmen now that he's back in the pavilion.

I remember Tendulkar being the first one to complain during the 3 one day match series in 1997/1998 which was held in Pakistan. Many people thought he had actually put a stone in his pocket before going on to the field and then lodged a fake complaint!

Are you actually saying its ok to throw bottles at players ?

I can't believe it !!!

Whats your point - that Indian crowds throw them too ? Well , thats true and whats more , on that we will always be united - lots of people in both our countries are disgusting enuff to do something like that...delhi ? calcutta ? yeah , disgusting whoever they were..and whoever it was today , they too...

Don't drag your own country down...i have enough Pakistani friends to know better than to think that way about Pakistan as a whole...Shame on whoever's enjoying such an incident on this forum ..

As for whoever brought history into the picture , lets stick to cricket shall we ?

In one match when Imran Khan was captain and playing against india in a test the crowd went wild. Throwing everything they had, chanting etc The umpires left the field but imran insisted to stay on. He told all the fielders to go to the pavilion and wear a hamlet and come back out and field! and we are making such a big issue of this!

Yeah , friend of mine went to Lahore in 2004 and came back saying the hospitality over there was nothing we could ever match in India. I believe its the same this year. A fe rotten apples do not reflect on the population.
I am disappointed not by some joker throwing a bottle at sachin. There are these idiots all over the sub continenent , lots of them in my country too. I am disappointed that this forum thinks its no big deal...1 bottle Vs 100 bottles , thats not the point. Its ok to gloat and rejoice over Shoaib hitting tendu on the helmet with a bouncer but objects thrown by spectators at players ? !!! Come on , you know better than that to say that's ok too !!!

Sachin is a drama queen plain and simple. Always moans about the sight-screen, moans about the crowd. And the biggest example is: When he knows he is being troubled by the bowlers, starts feigning a back injury....

Of course the Indian supporters will remind me that Bradman's wife considers Sachin the Don's equal, and he is the greatest ever, blah, mlah, most centuries, blah, blah, great stats, blah, blah, bowls the googly better than mushy blah, blah.

Well I hope you keep thinking that way, cos he is a walking wicket!

In Faisalabad, SRT was fielding near the ropes and he misfielded. The
ball jumps out of his hands, travels the lenght of his torso and hits him
on the neck & jaw. The guy was rubbing his jaw and looking ill, for the
next half-hour.

Now in Karachi, near the end of today's play, SRT dives in front of MoYo
to run him out and MoYo trips over his face. There is no blood, there is
no bruise on SRT. The whole team of medics is called-in, Sachin is laying
lifeless, in a fetal position on the ground. He finally decides it's too much
for him and leaves the field and does not return.

The guy is a sissy drama queen, man.

no bruise on SRT. The whole team of medics is called-in, Sachin is laying
lifeless, in a fetal position on the ground. He finally decides it's too much
for him and leaves the field and does not return.

Manoj its not about 1 bottle or 100 bottles, it was more to do with SRT's reaction.

As a "champion" and ambassador for his country, he would have been better served to just smile at the crowd and get on with the game and perhaps mutter, under his breath some unpleasantries to the fool who threw it.

However to make such a scene was ridiculous and unecessary. I thought it was going to turn into a diplomatic incident with both countries recalling their ambassadors

I don't even know what the whole fuss is about.
Did anyone see where that bottle was? It was thrown just over the fence, way behind the boundary rope, and the advertising boards. SRT certainly made a big issue of something so tiny...like Saj mentioned, he would have been better off just smiling at them and making them feel stupid for their actions. Instead, he decides to bring it to everyone's attention. Great job...that surely is a champion attitude

NO!
