best player not to have played for pak imo it's Taimur Khan

i wonder who ppl whould consider for this title - mine personally is taimur khan - a complete all rounder in his day - shame azhar got picked ahead of him around 99/00, maybe past his prime now but would still be handy in the one day make up - only 29

Ghaffar Kazmi for me a great allround player, he has past it now, he is around forty but he sill looks around 32. He is very fit plays league cricket was once shortlisted in Imran Khan's days but unfortunately broke his leg and was not considered after that. He is pure class.

ghafoor - taimur's story annoys me the most - miandad didnt like him so would never consider him even when he was the best all rounder in pak and far superior to azhar - dude dropped faisal iqbal when he was skipper of Pak a team a while back and miandad managed to get taimur out of setup

Taimur Khan walks this. Absolute joke his non selection. In this team today he could take the new ball and bat at 3 if the team needed or probably at 6.

Gary, to be honest I have never seen Taimur play but just looking at his statistics his first class bowling figures are pretty good but his batting averages are somewhat mediocre. Why do you think that he could bat at 3?

aj - back in 99 this guy should have been a certainty in the pakistan side - complete all rounder - a genuine bowling all rounder - always has been superior to azhar. taimur skippered the pak A team - such a shame he wasnt picked - coz he has a rapport with a lot of pak team - afridi, rana, myk and the rest

This thread is a bit non sensical imo! how can you say who the best is if they havent played for Pakistan, the domestic game is not a good indicator of how well a player will player!

maybe if you asked the player who most deserved a chance it would be more apt

I never compared him with Malik because they are not comparable. Malik is younger and started his career as a lower order off-spinner. I just question the notion that he could walk into the national team given his mediocre statistics.

TK started as a batsman and then Ramiz Raja told him he could bowl. And he became all rounder.
He has the temperament to play for Pakistan and believe me he is as good a batsman as Wasti who has 2 test hundreds and 36 avg!

Wasti was an ordinary player Amit, being better than him is not saying much. Amjid, even world class players get out to the likes of Astle. There is nothing in that argument.

He seems to have had a decent commonwealth tournament and it is difficult to judge how good he was since most of us have never seen him. Anyhow, he is out of contention...and there is no point arguing over him as of now.
