Pakistan claim a thrilling 1 wicket victory against SA Invitational XI

Pakistan clinched a one wicket win over South African Invitation XI in their one and only warm-up game before the first ODI this Sunday.

Led by the highly-rated de Kock's 65, SA Inv XI posted a daunting target of 267 for Pakistan to chase.

Imran Farhat scored 40 and Kamran Akmal batting at number three top-scored with 47(49). However it came down to the lower-order in the form of the aggressive Shahid Afridi 29(19), Abdur Rehman 35*(58), Umar Gul 30(35) and Junaid Khan 9*(9) to clinch a one-wicket win, with two balls to spare.

The Pakistani think-tank will continue to worry about the brittle middle order as Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik mustered 26 runs between them, including a duck for Younis.

Pakistan will now move on to Bloemfontein to face South Africa on 10th March in the first of five ODI's

His last 3 ODI series had him averaging 12,25 and 23(scored 94 runs off 4 innings vs Srilanka,im discounting the not out on the last innings as he scored 37 runs in the first 3 matches)

A middle order off two tried and tested failures - YK and Malik & then Misbah whose not been in the best of form is asking for trouble in ODIs, but with pakistan there is no real future planning for ODIs!

i dont know why when a person criticizes a player he becomes a hater.... he has yet to perform in international matches since his comeback...... Seeing his last T20 i dont have any expectations from this hack but.... remember in his last three ODI he has zero score....

If we struggled to beat their D team, it would require some remarkable effort to beat the main XI. If it wasnt for the Afridi blitz, we werent even in the contest. And we all know how consistent Afridi is with his blitzes

I expect another 49 all out and believe me at that time the ball was swinging... this time we will just gift wickets... the entire middle order is full of TTF and out off form batsmen... If they play seniors then the tail will start the very moment the first wicket falls.

actually it was Kami's knock that kept us in the game,,when he came to bat we were needed 220 ish to chase and when he left we needed 120 ish to chase at the same RR not that RR has gone up....if you minus Kami's knock hen we'd have been chasing the same 120 ish at the end at 8 RPO which means Rehman could no longer tuk tuk and Pakistan might have lost...
