Fast bowling exercises.

I'm currently working on getting stronger generally working on arms, and chest region, to inshAllah help with my bowling. Anyone know any exercises which help to build up strength in the wrists too?

Cartman is more of a cardio expert.

Seriously, do you recommend any exercise to strengthen muscles used for fast bowling?

AJ i would like to know what the f would you have to say about quick bowling.. way i see it your more of the couch or PC posting expert. I actually have credentials to prove I am a genuine pacer..

And for those who want to know what exercises they need for bowling, I would recommend bowling as much as you can because simply bowling alone can strengthen those particular muscles of yours that u cant exactly develop using weight training. if u do weight training dont lift very heavy weights. more reps with light weight.. for shoulders and back. for legs though u should use heavy weights.. most common injuries for quick bowlers are back, ankles, shoulders and hamstrings.. more strengthened they are better it is.

To increase your speed, I think you should look at your action and run up? Usually those things can be improved.

And yes I agree, more repetitions(15-17) with light weight. No heavy training.

It is important to ensure that you do not build alot of muscle bulk as that would slow you down and also concentrate on developing flexibility in tendons.

Pathan, Nehra, Zaheer have all gone downhill, so it's hard to say. Just keep practising.

With age I have added more weapons to my arsenal.

Anyway, need to cut down on the smokes, killing my stamina.
