ABN - AMRO CUP FINAL

Author: Waseem

ABN Amro cup final has been won by Lahore Lions by 95 runs

Lahore Lions scored 279 in 45 overs ( Arslan Mir scored 89 * and Jahangir Mirza 46 * ...... Ali Imran took 2 but too expensive, Mansoor was expensive and took 1 wicket )

Sialkot 183 ALL OUT ( Imran tahir 4/23 off 8, Arsalan Mir took 2 wickets )

Lahore won by 95 runs

I watched almost the whole match and i would have to say that Imran Tahir is a very good leg spinner and way better than Mansoor Amjad (Not because Imran took 4 wickets). Mansoor bowls TOO much on the off side whereas Imran attacks the wickets and he bowls the GOOGLY extremely well and he also bowls good flippers and swings the ball a lot. If Arshad Khan is not taken to India, Imran Tahir MUST be included in the squad to provide support to Danish Kaneria.

Arsalan Mir looked a very good batsman and his bowling was quite effective as well, he is a medium fast bowler and more than a useful bowler in ODIs. He is as good as Azhar Mahmood in bowling and his batting is WAY better than Azhar.

Jahangir Mirza also played really well and he is a good off spinner BUT he is yet another Hafeez or malik type bowler and his action looked suspicious.

Best batsman of the tournament: Athar of Hyderabad
Best Bowler: Safraz of Sialkot
Best Fielder: Mansoor Amjad
Best Keeper: Humayn Farhat

Bari was there as well and it looks like Faisal Athar is off to India. He was best batsman of the recently finished Quaid e Azam cup(4 day matches) and now he has been named the best batsman of ODI's as well.

Imran Tahir as i said looks very promising and MUST be selected if Arshad Khan is too old for selection.
