What the hell happened?

The second odi match was played at the city which was once the hub of British logistical operations in South Asia. Indian batting was rock solid, its fielding - phenomenal, and its bowling was clearly top notch while paying homage to line and length and conceding only 9 runs in extras! While Pakistan's running between the wickets was just plain dismal and idiotic, it's batsmen's shot selection merely amateurish; I felt that we had clearly lost the match due to Inzamam's first decision of the day - the toss. The curator of the pitch had clearly said in an interview the day before that the pitch will favour the side fielding first and will ease up for batting as the day progresses. This was what we saw in reality. Nevertheless, as I look back on a match for which I sacrificed sleep, and travelled in the wee hours of the morning to catch; I see a total lack of preparation and ask myself what the hell happened?

Look at the picture below on the side note, fans are jumping over the border to watch the match!

It was an off day for Pakistan. These things happen. No need to over analyse our first defeat of the entire series. Just forget about it, move on and learn from the individual mistakes we made.

Thats a bit of an over-reaction.

We lost a game-no major trauma.

moreover Woolmer said that he wants pakistan to be able to win against the odds. and they had already decided to bat first, after winning the first odi.

he is preparing the pak team into such a unit which wont depend on a flick of a coin to win a match. and i think this is the way to do it.
go against the odds.
